There’s something new on the wall leading to The Tyneside…
As part of The Bridge Festival, a free celebration of hip hop culture across the North East, artist Sune worked with a group of young people and their support workers to design this beautiful new mural.
Their inspiration came from right here: nearly nine decades of designs in our archives, from old monthly guides to posters and even the cover of our book Come and See.
One visual stood out: our Wes Anderson season poster showing the outline of our building. That shape became the heart of the final design, with colours inspired by film quads like The Exorcist.
Yesterday, the mural was brought to life by Sune and 12-year-old artist Terox, the youngest ever to exhibit at BALTIC.
