Wow how about that Audio Apothecary this past Friday! What a fantastic show, all the DJs crushed and production was off the charts! Thank you so much @upcyclesounds for hosting an incredible event, for having @mark_grimace and I play, and for trusting us to set the table for you before your big live set 🫶🏼
We were so excited about playing a B2B set again after so long, and many of you may not know this but Mark had surgery on his arm just a week prior and was DJing with only one functioning arm! A true bad ass rave dad, I doubt I would’ve managed if that were me! 😳

MEME Artist Feature: MARK GRIMACE

A true original raver, Mark began djing in 1986 and started playing raves in Toronto early 1994. He was part of some of the city’s most legendary original rave crews, playing everything from warehouse parties and festivals, to the city’s best clubs, and touring across North America. He’s been lucky enough to share the stage with some of the scene’s pioneers and biggest stars along the way. Mark and his family moved to Winnipeg 10 years ago and he never missed a beat (see what I did there?). Mark is just as active behind the scenes, bringing people together to help things grow, as he is behind the decks. Mark’s infectious energy is a crowd favorite wherever he goes. Over 30 years as an active and dedicated DJ has allowed him to develop an eclectic style with unmatched technical ability – his sets move fluidly from genre to genre, from broken beats to 4/4 and all points in between keeping the dancefloor constantly on its toes. He is just as comfortable in a club environment as he is in a dirty warehouse or festival stage.

Equal parts selectors, historians, and deck technicians, they skillfully navigate the spaces between future and past: always looking for the next great track while showcasing past gems to educate the dance floor.
As part of the original Emotion Festival family back in the Manitoba days, this one carries a little extra heart 🩷. It’s been a long time since they’ve stepped onto the grounds at Besant Campground; last appearing when Connect Festival called it home; & having them return feels like something truly special. A full-circle moment for the Emotion community/fam, and the roots of what this festival was built on. 💜🥹

What an amazing time we had Wednesday night at War on the Catwalk. I love the art of drag and to see it at this high of a level is so cool. I got to meet a couple of my all time favs but every Queen was so nice and sweet when we met them. So much fun ! 😍🤩
