📣 HEADLINER ANNOUNCEMENT 📣
@emotion.festival is FRANTIC to share:
!! SHAEL b2b MARK GRIMACE !!
Pillars of Winnipeg’s underground scene and ravers at heart, Shael and Mark Grimace bring a unique musical perspective carved from decades behind the decks and on the dance floor. Equal parts selectors, historians, and deck technicians, they skillfully navigate the spaces between future and past: always looking for the next great track while showcasing past gems to educate the dance floor.
As part of the original Emotion Festival family back in the Manitoba days, this one carries a little extra heart 🩷. It’s been a long time since they’ve stepped onto the grounds at Besant Campground; last appearing when Connect Festival called it home; & having them return feels like something truly special. A full-circle moment for the Emotion community/fam, and the roots of what this festival was built on. 💜🥹
Expect deep cuts, timeless energy, and a journey that honours where we came from while pushing the dancefloor forward.
Two selectors. Decades deep. One journey 👀

The cat is outta the bag! Absolutely over the moon to announce my return to @basscoastfest this year amongst this gorgeous lineup of artists, including the iconic @cinthie_dj and @djminxwomenonwax ! 😍
I can’t even begin to express how proud and grateful I am to be part of such an iconic Canadian festival, a festival with such dedication to showcasing creativity, diverse underground electronic music, AND which is founded by women. It is truly magical. 💫✨
This year I’m so excited to share the stage with my dear @esettemusic for another special Babe2Babe set 👯♀️ After last year’s @memetic_meme Cube stage closing set we laid down I just know we are gonna create some serious magic again and it feels so correct! BABE COAST CREW ASSEMBLE, see you all thereee xx 💙✨

It’s almost April and I’m getting so excited for summer time, dancing outside, and another edition of MEME! This year’s music lineup is looking stellar and I love the big focus again on Canadian talent, we really do have many fantastic underground artists around these parts and we need to keep showcasing them! 💗
MEME is my favourite time of the year in this city, it is in my opinion the best weekend for proper underground electronic music. And the whole team behind MEMETIC truly make magic happen by hosting a FREE music showcase at the Cube every year, and without a bunch of corporate sponsors. This is partly made possible with the support of the nightly ticketed events so if you enjoy taking in the music at the Cube every year you should also check out one or both of the night events too! This year we get to enjoy a new and exciting warehouse space on the Friday night with 2 stages of music. I’ll be playing outside there on the Friday night. Sooo pumped! Get your tickets at Memetic.ca and keep supporting underground in Winnipeg! Let’s have a nice time. xx ✨✨✨
TBT 1996, angsty teen edition. Not much has changed tbh, now I’m an angsty 40 yr old lol 😭
This was actually my last time in the motherland. Monte Grande, Buenos Aires, Argentina, in mi abuela’s backyard. 30 freaking years ago! I cannot believe it’s been that long, I absolutely need to go back to experience it as an adult and reconnect with my culture and mi familia 🩵
One cute memory I have from that trip was listening to the radio there. This was a few years before I really got into dance music and raving, but I recall being fascinated with all the cool music I heard on the radio, it was nothing like the lame radio stations we had here that played all the same commercial crap. I specifically remember hearing this dope dance remix of Missing, I think it was the Todd Terry version here, I’d never heard it before and was mesmerized! I recorded an hour or 2 of that radio on tape, really wish I could find that tape again. But yeah it’s fun thinking back to these little moments when I was drawn to dance music before fully finding my way to it forever. 💘💘

Celebrating, Sharing, and Amplifying LOVE!
The third annual Antidote Love Motel was such a wonderful expression of the power of Love. What a deelightful evening of uplifting the joy of gathering in community, of allowing music to reverberate through the emotions the body holds, of deep human connection.
The Antidote Love Motel was conceived as a place where: All forms of Love are valued, Dreams come true, and Unforgettable Memories are made.
A space where you can feel held + supported in your authentic expression. Annndd dang y’all really showed up for this one. Wholly hotness, you brought the heat babes. It is such an honour to see all of you be present and receive/engage/add to the experience.
Thank you for bringing your energy to the night and dancing until the wee hours. We are inspired by your dedication to nurturing this community and the Love you share for each other.
