TALK OF THE TOWN - CALL OUT FOR FOOTAGE! đą đĽ
Whatâs a favourite Margate Pride memory you keep coming back to?
It has been a whole ten years of colour, cardboard, community, courage and joy on the streets, beaches and venues of Margate, from one day to a range of events yearly. To mark this milestone, Margate Pride is creating Talk of the Town - a new film that captures what Margate Pride means to them.
Made in collaboration with poet Kit Griffiths @kit_griffiths Talk of the Town will weave together footage from our community with Kit's words, and we're calling on anyone who has ever felt part of Margate Pride to share their moments with us.
WE WANT YOUR FOOTAGE!
Whether that is landscape or portrait, polished or raw, filmed on a phone or a camera. From the loud and proud to the quiet and intimate, from big headline events to the small moments that happen year-round. Whatever it is, if it feels like Margate Pride to you, we would love it to be part of Talk of the Town.
You can submit your contribution via the googleform - đ LINK IN BIO
Please submit by Friday 10th July, 2026. #margatepride #margatepride2026 #margatepridefestival #TalkoftheTown

Everyday thousands of acts of kindness and care happen in our community. As part of the nationwide event - A Million Acts of Hope, (@1mactsofhope ) we're helping to organise a family friendly, community picnic, where we can meet and catch up with all the individuals and groups who make our great town tick đŤśđź
If you are a group in Margate and want to get involved, please get in touch and we will add your organisation!
We would love as many community organisations as possible to be part of this. We hope this will be a fabulous opportunity to showcase the kindness and care our community has to offer and that we should all be proud of đ˘đđ˝
Dani St James and Amy Zing present The Biggest, Gayest Party In The World in celebration of Margate Prideâs 10th birthday.
Picture the scene: Pride night in Margate. The sun is setting over the sea, your outfit is borderline irresponsible, and youâre following the giant gloriously phallic Lido sign towards the Drillshed. In the distance? A bassline. Is it Jessie Ware? Wait.. no.. itâs Kylie Minogue. Hang on⌠now itâs Robyn. Perfect.
Outside: 8,000 gays, lesbians, dolls, divas and disco sluts smoking fags on deckchairs and screaming âBABE!â every three seconds. Inside: pure unfiltered queer chaos. The stage explodes with the beauty and brilliance of The Cocoa Butter Club while a line-up of iconic DJs deliver wall-to-wall pop, disco and euphoric dancefloor bangers to send our 10th Pride out exactly how it deserves. Speaking of pride, get ready for a party with a purpose, we are chucking ÂŁ1 from every ticket plus all the guest list money over to our loves at Margate Pride â¤ď¸
The Cocoa Butter Club, Sophie Stirling and Dani St James have their USB sticks locked, loaded and ready to make you sweat your lashes off.
This is the antithesis to a moody techno basement. Weâre prioritising FUN. Camp. Chaos. Poppers energy. Big visuals, lasers, disco balls, singalongs, camp pride anthems and a gorjina crowd ready to dance their gay little socks off until the lights come up.
See you on the dance floor, sexies x

Open Call: Submissions from LGBTQIA+ Artists age 55+.
Margate Pride is committed to creating inclusive opportunities in the arts and ensuring that all members of our community are represented and celebrated. As we celebrate ten years of Margate Pride, we are excited to announce an Open Call opportunity for LGBTQIA+ artists aged 55 and over as part of our 2026 Summer Festival, supported by Arts Council England. @aceagrams
We recognise that older artists can face barriers to visibility and access within the UK art world. As an intersectional organisation, Margate Pride aims to address these inequalities and dedicate this platform to amplify the voices and talents of artists aged 55+.
UK-based artists are defined as those currently living and working in the UK.
Application is through the Zealous link in our linktree đ
Please contact [email protected] if you need assistance with your application. We are happy to help in any way we can. Please reach out to us if you are finding any of the application process difficult.

This #TransHistoryWeek2026, weâre celebrating the powerful legacy of Trans+ folks whoâve shaped culture, challenged norms, and fought for justice.
In a time when Trans+ rights face growing attacks, it's more important than ever to reflect, learn, and amplify these voices. Letâs support our communities and ensure Trans+ people are seen, heard, and celebrated every day.
Solidarity is essential. Join the conversation, share the history, and stand up for equality.
