What if finding sustainable materials was as easy as watching your favorite series? 🎬 This is how MARCH began. When Marie, an architect who experienced firsthand how hard it was to build sustainably, decided to rethink how materials are sourced. After years of spending countless hours searching for responsible, beautiful, and affordable materials, she wanted to make it easier for every architect to do the same. That idea became MARCH, a platform built to connect architects, materials, and makers, and to make sustainable construction the new normal. Together with you, we’re turning that vision into reality. 💚 And stay tuned, we’ll soon be launching the full version of our platform. Exciting things are coming. ✨ Remember! Only 2 days left to vote for your favorite project on the MARCH platform. 👉 Vote now at 🗓 Public Voting closes tomorrow 🏆 People’s Choice Award - Oct 17 🏛 Jury Awards - Oct 24 MARCH founders: @roelsmmarie & @belenmb9 🎥 Huge thanks to @fraulein_architektin for helping us share this chapter of our journey.

📢 Jury Announcement | 07 @he_architectuur Why did we invite Renée Verhulst as a judge for the MARCH Awards 2026? As architect and co-founder of @he_architectuur , Renée Verhulst approaches architecture as something deeply connected to landscape, material, and everyday life. The practice is known for transforming overlooked building typologies into spaces that are socially, spatially, and environmentally resilient, often through the use of natural materials and careful renovation strategies. At hé! architectuur, this thinking is reflected in projects that show how existing buildings can be radically reimagined without losing their identity. In Omloop, that means transforming a typical Flemish “fermette” into a compact, energy-conscious home centered around a rammed earth wall and earthen stove, reconnecting the house to its surrounding landscape while creating a space designed for lifelong living. Rather than treating the existing structure as disposable, the project explores how one of Belgium’s most common and undervalued housing typologies can become a model for sustainable renovation, using natural materials, passive climate strategies, and spatial reorganisation to completely rethink the way the home performs. That combination of material intelligence, ecological thinking, and sensitivity towards existing architecture is what makes Renée Verhulst such a valuable voice on this year’s jury. — Image Credits: @tvdvphotography — The shortlist for the MARCH Awards 2026 is out now. The shortlist is here. And honestly? We are in awe. Every project you are about to see was built with intention. Local materials. Circular systems. Low-carbon and bio-based choices made at every turn. These are not just beautiful buildings. They are proof that the way we build is changing. Public voting is now open, and your voice matters. The top 3 People’s Choice winners take home a secret prize (yes, really secret, we are not telling you yet). Here is how to vote: 1. Go to the link in our bio 2. Browse the full shortlist and find your favourite 3. Cast your vote. You can vote once every 24 hours, so come back and keep supporting the projects you believe in. These architects made bold, considered choices. The least we can do is show up for them. Voting closes June 11. Go explore. Vote. Share. #MARCHAwards #ArchitectureCompetition #CircularDesign #SustainableArchitecture #BuildingMaterials

📢 Jury Announcement | 06 @christophhessearchitects Why did we invite @michela.quadrelli as a judge for the MARCH Awards 2026? As partner and architect at Christoph Hesse Architects, Michela Quadrelli leads a practice that connects ecological thinking, community participation, and spatial design, creating projects that strengthen collaboration, self-efficacy, and deep connections to nature, with a strong focus on cultural and ecological projects. In Open Chapel, they use sandstone pillars to create an open, contemplative space shaped by light, shadow, and material presence, showing how a reduced palette of natural materials can produce both spatial depth and a strong connection to place. In House of Knowledge, that means bringing together a public library, exhibition space, tea house, and community gardens in one place, turning architecture into a civic and ecological framework for learning and exchange. That combination of ecological thinking, cultural sensitivity, and community-centered design is what makes Michela Quadrelli such a valuable voice on this years jury. — Image Credits: Open Chapel: @christophhessearchitects House of Knowledge: Gabriel Dong — 🚨There is still time to submit your project till the end of TODAY. For the MARCH Awards 2026, we are partnering with @hessler.kalk and @hanfstein.eu , two companies at the forefront of natural construction materials.
