Open call to universities: take part in a week of hands-on workshops, lectures and debates alongside multiple European architecture schools! We are happy to open our doors to universities eager to join with a dedicated group of students. The Fall School is an invitation to break out of the walls of one’s own school, to exchange perspectives across Europe, build together and form connections that extend beyond a single week. For tutors alike, it offers a parallel space for dialogue: to share expertise, expand professional networks and debate and build together. If your school is interested or you require more information, send an email to [email protected] with the subject „Fall School”. Organised by BC studies and @actofbuilding_rwth Collaboration with @environment.brussels With the support of the Erasmus+ program.

GOOIK is the construction of a single-family house for the farm Bree-Eik. The project experiments with circular construction techniques: the load-bearing walls are made of compressed earth bricks, insulated with hemp-lime blocks and finished with lime plaster. A key principle of the project is to work with the existing - reusing and repurposing materials in a new context: bricks left over from the demolition of the former building and from neighbouring sites are crushed and to be added into a terrazzo, exterior walkways and used in a garden wall, combined with old roof tiles and other construction site remains.

We may have already given it away, but a while back, we spent an afternoon with @bc_asm in Evere. Under the watchful eye of @leem.works , we experimented by blending the Léém Clay Paint into different colours. Their paint is designed to be mixed, so the four base colors can be combined to achieve 35 unique shades. After carefully selecting and painting two specific tones, we held a mood board session with complementary items borrowed from the Rotor DC stock. Finding the right colour can be a process of trial and error. For those wanting to experiment with their own combinations, Léém Tester Kits are now available at Rotor DC. Each box contains the four base colors, a brush, a primer, and of course the blending guide. This measuring and mixing is fun guaranteed! Once you have found your perfect colour match, the kits also include a reduction coupon for buying larger bags of paint. Welcome to Rotor DC, to discover the Léém-range, as well as a wide assortment of reclaimed and surplus materials!

🟡 BC architects & studies & materials | #Speaker of the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona, joining the pillar Becoming Embodied [2/2] Becoming Embodied engages with materials, fabrication and technologies, integrating their environmental values, social impact and expressive qualities — exploring structural potential, assembly systems and adaptability over time. Within this framework, BC architects & studies & materials brings a hybrid practice working with minds and hands across design, community organisation, material production and teaching. Their projects respond to social contexts through hands-on processes that reconnect architecture with craftsmanship and local sourcing, using local earth, fibres and timber, with each project acting as a prototype for systemic transformation. Their Research by Design investigation will be presented for the first time at UIA2026BCN. More info at 🔗 uia2026bcn.org → The UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 will take place in Barcelona from 28 June to 2 July 2026. This global event will bring together renowned architects, researchers, and influential figures from diverse disciplines, inviting professionals in architecture and design to engage in dynamic dialogue and a collective exploration of future perspectives. #UIA2026BCN #BecomingEmbodied #Barcelona2026 @bcn_arquitectura @bc_asm Images: 1. 🟡 BC architects & studies & materials | #Speaker of the UIA World Congress of Architects 2026 Barcelona [1/2] BC stands for Brussels Cooperation and points to how it grew - embedded within place and people. It operates through 3 legal entities registered in Belgium: BC architects bv (architecture company), BC studies vzw (non-profit education laboratory), BC materials cv (material production cooperative). The cooperative is a hybrid practice, designing and undertaking "acts of building" towards systemic change in the construction sector. The team strives for bioregional, low-tech, circular, beautiful and inclusive design. They undertake activities such as community organisation, material production, contracting, teaching, prototyping. Research by Design, a key format of #UIA2026BCN, is an approach that brings research into practice to develop concrete, contextualised solutions—generating knowledge through real-world studies and projects. 📅 The results of these investigations will be unveiled for the first time during UIA2026BCN.
