MAD Arts Detroit? YES! It is happening! We are opening two new spaces dedicated to bold experimentation, collaboration, and community-centered cultural production. The first will operate as a laboratory for interdisciplinary practices, installations, research, and making. The second - a former church - will become an immersive exhibition and performance space for local and international artists. At the center of this new chapter is what has always guided us: artists first. We’re excited to grow alongside Detroit’s creative community and to create new dialogue and exchange between Detroit and South Florida. More to come. - MAD Arts

Beyond honored to receive the 2025–2026 @villa.albertine French Immersion Grant, supporting the next generation of immersive creators in the U.S. In 2026, MAD Arts will present LILITH.AEON by AΦE, a 60-minute interactive installation exploring AI, grief, and digital rebirth inside a monumental LED cube. Blending choreography, XR, and immersive storytelling, the work invites audiences to engage with a virtual soul suspended between life and code. We’re deeply proud to be recognized alongside the Lincoln Center, the Onassis Foundation, and Gray Area — a major milestone that affirms MAD Arts’ place among the world’s leading immersive art venues. Grateful to our collaborators, community, and the visionary support that makes this work possible. 💫

The I Was Here exhibition at @madarts_space in Broward County is still open, offering an immersive experience that connects ancestry, memory, and identity. Alongside the exhibition, youth in Broward County have been participating in our Invitation to Respond workshops, exploring their own stories and the power of ancestry. These powerful sessions will culminate in a Youth Showcase on August 29—a celebration of creativity, history, and community. If you’re in South Florida, we hope you’ll join us at the showcase and experience the exhibition in person. 📅 Details on the Broward County Arts calendar: /event/nation-builders-of-broward-county/ #iwashereproject #browardcounty #browardcountyarts #youthshowcase #communityengagement #nonprofitarts #museumexhibition

Miami Art Week kicked off with “LUMEN,” a handmade mosaic crafted by artist Daniel Popper. This large-scale sculpture was brought to life using light and projection mapping, and we’re thrilled to have helped along the way. Stop by @society.wynwood at night to check it out for yourself. We’re huge fans of what he does and can’t wait to share a big surprise for #IGNITEBroward. Stay tuned! 🖼️: LUMEN by @danielpopper   #immersivemuseum #daniabeach #visualart #immersiveexperience #artmuseum #museumlover #museumofart #southflorida #artinstallation #sculptureart

MAD Presents The Art of Fishing by Local Artist, Alex Wexler The solo art show opens on February 20th & 21st at MAD’s new Dania Beach studio MIAMI – February 8, 2021 – In the spirit of keeping local art and culture alive, MAD is launching a series of art exhibitions in its Bad Space II art gallery located in Dania Beach’s Gallery of Amazing Things building. The first in this series is The Art of Fishing by Miami-based artist Alex Wexler which will open to the public on Saturday and Sunday, Feb. 20th and 21st and run through May 20, 2021. The exhibition hours will be during MAD’s regular business operating hours from 10am – 6pm, Monday through Saturday. The Art of Fishing will showcase some of Wexler’s most successful Gyotaku (an ancient Japanese art form which involves taking impressions of fish for art) prints alongside illustrations and studies with ink and graphite of his time at sea. There will also be a site-specific Kite Fishing installation which is the main technique used to target Pelagic fish in South Florida (and Wexler’s preferred form of fishing) and a newly commissioned projection mapping video in collaboration with MAD’s team. The exhibition will feature a screen-printing machine for visitors to create their own prints as a tangible memory to take home.
