The Reuben Selby team have carefully sourced the knitwear yarn from Italian supplier Barrufa. Barrufa adopts a fully sustainable business model, reducing environmental harm through the purification of water, localisation of production and management of carbon storage. Since 1850, the company have produced yarn of the highest quality, without sacrificing the health of the planet.
“Our commitment to sustainability and human rights welfare doesn’t stop there. 5% of the self-imposed tax from the knit will go to the charity Rimba Raya Biodiversity Reserve REDD+ in Indonesia. The REDD+ project helps to preserve carbon-dense tropical swamps - helping to stop deforestation for the extraction of palm oil. The charity engages with local communities in order to improve food security, income opportunities, healthcare and education. The REDD+ project also aids the protection of the 105,000 endangered Borneo Orangutangs”.
