Last year, Manayunk made history 🎉🌊 The Flat Rock Dam opened its gates for the first time in over 75 years, bringing fresh flowing water back to the Manayunk Canal - and honestly, we are STILL celebrating. But wait, it gets even better. Philadelphia Water Department scientists are also cultivating freshwater mussels and deploying them into the canal as tiny but mighty natural water filters - each one capable of cleaning the water and living for decades 🐚💧 Here’s to one year of cleaner water, thriving wildlife, and a neighborhood that just keeps getting better 🙌
