After six years of serving and collaborating with artists and collectors, MakersPlace has made the difficult decision to cease operations.
MakersPlace has made significant strides in enhancing its products and services to serve artists and collectors, firmly establishing its brand in the industry over the past few years even with the market in a prolonged downturn. Despite our existing runway, with these market conditions, we anticipate significant challenges in securing further investment which would make it difficult, if not impossible, to pursue our mission to champion digital art, sustain operations, and deliver meaningful returns to our shareholders.
After careful consideration of various strategic options, the board, founders, and company leadership have decided that ceasing operations is the best course of action for MakersPlace, our investors, and our employees. We will return unused cash to investors, provide fair severance packages to employees, and ensure a smooth wind-down of MakersPlace.com. This is a difficult decision, but we believe it is the most prudent for our stakeholders.
Please see the blogpost linked in our bio for more information.
Since 2018, weâve proudly supported digital art and believe it will eventually become a significant part of the art market. Thank you for being part of our journey.

Own a piece of digital art history: @laprisamata1 âs âANTIFLESHâ series, featuring a hand-signed 70x50cm museum-grade print on luxurious HahnemĂźhle Torchon paper.
These 3 artworks are a collage of Luisâ drawings and paintings that pay homage to 19th century artwork. He takes inspiration from traditional works, redraws and repaints them, and creates many layers of art to compose the entire artwork. In this body of work, Luis appropriates elements from different periods and contexts, and combines them with digital techniques using procreate, illustrator and photoshop.
