Thrilled to announced that I will be in residence at the Ghost Ranch in New Mexico next month! Georgia O'Keeffe famously sent many summers here and painted key aspects of the otherworldly terrain. 🌵 I look forward to spending time in the high desert, looking for extra-terrestrial life, communing with the cacti, and hanging out with like-minded artists. Oh, and also creating new art!

Anne Spalter Featured as part of Women’s Month on MuseFrame, in collaboration with @artandvault and @theHUGxyz . Curated by Farrah Carbonell @far.rah . Powered by @artdomains . Anne Spalter (@annespalter ) is a visual artist whose work fuses the speculative language of science fiction with archetypal imagery drawn from the collective unconscious. Working across painting, printmaking, and animation, she builds immersive symbolic landscapes where the natural world dissolves into the cosmic, populated by mythic animals, celestial phenomena, and surreal desert forms that hold inner and outer experience in the same frame. A defining figure in the emergence of digital art as a fine art practice, Spalter established some of the first digital fine arts courses at Brown University and the Rhode Island School of Design in the 1990s, positioning the computer as a serious artistic medium at a time of institutional resistance. Her work extends beyond the studio into collecting, curating, and advocacy, with lectures at institutions including Christie’s and the Smithsonian, contributing to the preservation and critical understanding of digital art’s evolution. This sustained engagement gives her practice a rare depth, where formal precision and speculative imagery remain in continuous dialogue. Her work is held in major collections including the Centre Pompidou, Buffalo AKG Art Museum, RISD Museum, and the Victoria & Albert Museum, and has been auctioned by Sotheby’s and Phillips. Now presented across Muse Frames via the Muse app. The program continues with invited artists alongside selected artists from the HUG open call.
