The rave community has been part of my life for decades, not just as a place to dance, but as a place of connection, expression, and belonging. In 2025, I had the absolute joy of hosting at multiple Make it Funky parties, and I was reminded again and again how powerful it is when people are given space to be fully themselves, together, in music and movement. As a therapist, I deeply value professional therapy and the work that happens in the room. As a human, I also value dancing, community, and giving emotions somewhere to go in the body. For me, both matter, and they serve different but complementary roles in how I stay connected to myself and others. As 2026 begins, I’m looking forward to continuing to show up in this community, both professionally and personally, and continuing to bridge conversations about mental health, identity, connection, and joy in spaces where people already feel alive.
