Alcohol sales in North American clubs have hit lows not seen since the 90s. Bottle service reservations are dying with it. Is the era of the VIP table over? or is everyone just broke?
There are moments that stop you in your tracks and remind you what really matters. This was one of them.
While in Santiago de los Caballeros, I had the privilege of visiting the village of Tres Ceibas with the Paul McBeth Foundation and our representatives from BLUE Missions. In 2014, BLUE Missions installed a clean water aqueduct system in this community.
The village next door was once known as La Sufridera, 'The Suffering.' After receiving clean water, it was renamed Los Puyones, which loosely translates to 'Those Who Push Forward.' That is not a coincidence. That is hope with a name. That name change tells you everything you need to know about the kind of impact clean water access can have on a community. Standing there, seeing it with my own eyes, I was completely awestruck.
But the moment that I will carry with me forever happened when we met a young girl who was 4 years old when that water system was installed. She is now a thriving young teenager. She has grown up never knowing what it means to live without clean water. For her, clean water has simply always been there. Her parents could not say the same. Let that sink in for a moment.
The community leader who made so much of this possible, Griselda, helped bring BLUE Missions into the area and fought for her community to have access to something that should be a basic human right. Seeing the lasting impact of that work, more than a decade later, in the faces of the people who live there... I have no words that fully do it justice.
BLUE Missions is doing inspiring and extraordinary work across Latin America, connecting communities to clean water while building the local leadership needed to sustain those systems for generations. If this post moves you even a little, I encourage you to learn more about them at bluemissions.org. They are worth your attention.
I went to the Dominican Republic to talk about disc golf. I came home thinking about so much more. šš
Itās been such a busy couple of weeks, so Iām a little late on this post. Better late than never!
A huge thank you to everyone who came out to NOMAD on Friday night. Getting to spend time with Fred, Justin and friends is always a highlight, and none of it happens without the people who show up.
Itās a challenging business, but Iām not going anywhere. As long as you keep coming out, Iāll keep giving you somewhere to be!
One of my favourite things about travelling is seeing local art. Some commissioned. Some Cultural. All creative uses of materials and space. There's so much to see in Mexico. I can't wait to go back!
2025 was one of the most memorable years in recent memory BY FAR! It had its challenges, but the highlights vastly outweighed them.
Ā
From a life-changing birthday cruise, to a spontaneous Miami trip to hang out with friends and see DJs I may never get the chance to see again, to running our weekly glow-in-the-dark disc golf league.
Ā
From taking @londonelek and some of the D&B scene on a walking tour of Toronto, to attending Movement in Detroit (maybe for the last time?), to fully bringing @drglow.ca to life.
Ā
From producing the Bastidās BBQ livestream with the @p6live fam, to finally making it to the airshow, to Dana ā¤ļø, and to what became a legendary Blue Jays season that ended with a World Series run! ⦠and thatās just SOME of the amazing things!
Ā
I canāt wait to get started on 2026. Itās already shaping up to be something special!
Getting (and GIVING) love on the @nightvision Twitch stream! I will be playing on the stream LIVE on Tuesday, January 13th as part of my ābirthday weekā festivities! More to come!
