Art Camp: Vol.1
Setting: somewhere in Brandenburg, 1 and a half hours away from Berlin, an airbnb with a wooden terrace overlooking a small quiet lake with blossoming trees spread around it. Not all of the trees are awake yet from their deep winter slumber. On the right side of the house, 2 minute walk up the hill, are endless green fields that meet with the sky at the horizon. You hear constant buzzing and laughter from the house, from the lake, from the fields. Sometimes there is silence with an occasional brushstroke on canvas or flick of a lighter. Sometimes music overflows into every corner of the house with random pauses for adjustments. People sing, hum and rap. Moog Grandmother is mixed with Kazakh shan-kobyz and a bass guitar. Camera turns on and off. Tripod changes its place all the time, while projector becomes part of the process. Mics, long cables and SD cards. 2 girls are shoving their camera into everyone’s faces: more out of excitement, than boredom. The others are producing non-stop. Uninterrupted flow of inspiration, with delicious food in between. They escaped their daily lives to create for the sake of creation. But what they got out of it was a rare constellation of true friendship and a core memory for life.

second collaboration with Dash this year turned out to be very fruitful and beautiful: I shot new snippets for him (scroll to see BTS + final results), came up with an entire Creative Direction for his debut album and crafted an Album cover for it 💽🖇️
working with real professionals is a blessing, but when you also deeply connect, share meaningful energies, silly laughs (keep swiping) and become true friends - that is rare. that’s where the magic really happens.

Recently, I re-watched my documentary film that I made for my MA diploma. It’s been 4 years since then.
It was a challenging project to make… about my home, changes within the country and my feelings around it.
Time passes fast. Immigrant life gets in a way of personal dreams. The need to stay in a foreign county, to get a job, to survive, hustle and grind. But in all of this orderly chaos of life, I hope I can finally finish this documentary. And show it to you.
