hi 🧚🏼♀️
madi here - mrs. LOOKS formally for some of you. 27 years young but 32 for
@jsfaces .
I wanted to do a little intro for anyone new here over the last little bit:
I’ve worked in the makeup industry for almost 10 years, originally self taught but also classically taught at
@blancheworld in Vancouver BC (one of my favourite places in the world). Originally from Toronto I started off by painting my face in my room alone & A LOT in the 2016 era of makeup + took a few prom makeup clients from my high school. (Shout out my OGs ily)
On top of my Global Makeup Artistry diploma I also have a Business Degree from TMU in Toronto, have trained in acting over the years
@lbactingstudio and most recently finished my Pilates Teacher Training certificate.
After makeup school I moved back to Toronto (but still frequent Van OFTEN - can’t keep me away) and started my bridal makeup career as well as started to hang and work on some pretty cool productions / shoots with some pretty cool people. My favourite part about my job is the ability to make people feel confident and beautiful and genuinely just getting to hang out & have fun with all of you whether it’s in your house, my house, on set or in a literal alleyway.
Freelancing isn’t for the faint of heart I can tell you that for absolute certainty. Getting started in the industry I’ve had to carry A LOT and I mean a TON of other jobs at the same time some of which include but are absolutely not limited to - serving, bartending, speed dating host, BA, event staff, executive assistant, social media manager, promo model, FORD motors certified product knowledge specialist (??) and the list goes on & on & on.
5 year plan lets talk about it - I hope to meet even more of you, I hope this job takes me to new places and I hope I can continue to create work that I’m excited about and proud of.
I love everyone here new & old xx
