In midcoast Maine, we spent time with artist @drusustabordesign , documenting his studio and process as part of the @charliehellstern identity.
Chip Dort is a printmaker and textile designer whose work carries an old-world sensibility, grounded in fine art and shaped by years in the New York design world.
A highlight of our year, shaped by Chip’s generosity, openness, and a true spirit of collaboration.
Hell · stern definition; German for “bright star”
From this origin, a concept takes shape and becomes an expressive visual language. The identity draws from the meaning of Charlie’s surname, a guiding idea that felt both personal and inevitable.
Developed in close collaboration with artist Chip Dort (@drusustabordesign ), the custom icons and pattern each carry their own character while remaining part of a cohesive whole.
The result reflects both the origin and the buoyant, radiant presence that is unmistakably Charlie.

Charlie Hellstern (@charliehellstern ) is a Seattle-based interior design studio known for work that is elegant, materially rich, and deeply attuned to the people who inhabit it. The practice is grounded in intuition, a reverence for place, and a belief that interiors should feel both timeless and deeply personal.
The new identity carries this forward through a rich palette and moments of brightness and expression. A distinct typographic voice, with a custom wordmark drawn from Kessler by @productiontype , works alongside commissioned icons and pattern developed in collaboration with an artist, forming a system that feels luminous and expressive.

Oyam (@oyam.studios ) is founded on the belief that architecture should strengthen cultural resilience. It is a practice rooted in values, designed to hold meaning, and committed to creating spaces that serve communities over time. Whether a home, gallery, or civic site, each project begins with purpose and responds to place.
Introducing a new brand identity built for clarity and longevity. At its center, a stenciled logotype turns the name into a living object. Like architecture, it gains meaning through use, becoming either a presence in space or a frame for other ideas. Design @madebyshore Photos @chukichannel Printing @evolutionpress
New staff portraits and studio photography by @le.segal , captured at Faulkner Architects’ San Francisco office. A beautiful afternoon spent documenting the people and place behind the work.
Brand refresh and website for @faulknerarchitects . A project shaped by the clarity, restraint, and precision found throughout the firm’s award-winning portfolio. With architecture this considered, our role was to create a platform that lets the work speak for itself.
In collaboration with @gonefishing.studio on web development and @le.segal on studio photography and portraits.
We had the distinct pleasure of crafting the identity for @iolairarts , a new artist residency on Orcas Island designed to support deep creative work and meaningful connection. From name to visual language, every detail was shaped to reflect the quiet purpose of the place and the spirit of the artists it will host. It was an honor to help introduce such a thoughtful cultural addition to the Eastsound community.
