I’m in print in @tmagazine ♥️ A dream come true
For T’s annual Culture issue, I loved talking with @annie.h.shi , who graciously shared her wine wisdom with me and entrusted me to translate what I learned into a sommelier-advised guide for not-so-sophisticated wine drinkers like myself.
I simultaneously spent the past six months or so conducting a survey of 43 culinary professionals, asking them to nominate their favorite chocolate bar brands available in the U.S. The result: a graph plotting one bar from each of the most popular brands by price and number of nominations.
These stories wouldn’t have happened without the support and guidance of my editor @ellara , who always knows just what to say, alongside T’s small yet mighty art department @katsu_fan and @nancyqingwu , who brought it all so beautifully to life on paper!

What I saw between these mountains will forever be embossed in my memory. Children walking barefoot along unpaved roads, waving with wide smiles. The strength of women’s backs — their bodies vessels for transport, piles of produce towering over their heads. A baby asleep, strapped to a mother’s back in the kitchen, both their cheeks flushed red from the broth’s steam. Women riding motorbikes through hillsides in kitten heels, ornate scarves tied beneath their eyes. The cotton trees color the skyline with budding bursts of red. Streets lined with fruits, flowers, and freshly butchered meats. Even in the latest of their years, they lead cows through the hillsides, farming beneath the beating sun. Boys welding in driveways, clearing plates from restaurant tables. Men riding with stacks of goods piled high on the backs of their bikes, feet dangling, a cigarette hanging from their lips. There is an elegance here that asks for no attention, no translation. It simply exists and words fall short of it. So instead, when I close my eyes, I hope to return again and again to the witness of these moments, holding them for as long as they’ll let me 🫀
mom look we made a magazine!!! neat freak was such a collective effort - thank you so much to everyone who has supported our first issue .✦ ݁˖ @neatfreakzine
i witnessed maría zardoya’s live cover of nude by radiohead and everything is now right in the world (and by that i mean that things are still very wrong in the world, but i’ll cherish the small moments like these that make it all feel a little lighter) 💌
