Elemental Alchemy speaks to both external creation and inner transformation, a synthesis of past and present, my relationship to form and spirit. Through the residency, I've expanded my artistic practice beyond ceramic sculptures, discovering new modalities for large-scale work. The journey paralleled my journey of self work and discovery, reflecting routines and practices that keep me spiritually connected in order to create. Rooted in narratives of familial ties, ancestry, and femininity, this sculpture invites the contemplation of impermanence, rebirth, and the cyclical nature of the lessons in human experience.

What an honour to have been interviewed by @cheadsmagazine and seen through the lens of @jodellaterra . With earth's textures as the backdrop, I had the chance to share more about the ‘feel first’ approach that informs my sculptural works, how I navigate duality and moments of self doubt, the roots that shape my artistry — and more.
Thank you Jo for bringing me into your always intentional collaboration, and C-Heads for the opportunity to share. 🤍

At CODE&CRAFT, nothing is incidental.
Every surface, structure, and gesture reveals a process — tested, refined, and sometimes deliberately disrupted.
These works capture moments where experimentation becomes object, and making itself is part of the narrative.

Nov 28–30, The Swiss Church, Covent Garden — RSVP free.
Introducing Lili Yas Tayefi (@lyt.studio ), an Iranian-Canadian designer and educator whose work unites ancestral material knowledge with contemporary digital fabrication.
Through clay — sculpted, printed, illuminated — Tayefi explores precision, imperfection, and the stories held in process. She also develops new tools for the field, including LYTcode, her Grasshopper plug-in for clay 3D printing.
“Rooted in slow, storied living — where machine, matter, and meaning converge.”
Exhibited internationally, Tayefi’s installation for CODE & CRAFT grows from her recent research with M.Arch students at the University of Calgary: a collective study of form, body, and the poetics of digital craft.
