No one can stop our voices unless we surrender them ourselves.
Some days the fight feels endless.
As women, as people carrying history, culture, and survival inside our bodies, it can feel exhausting to constantly have to rise above.
But warriors get tired too.
And they still continue.
So if you’re tired… rest if you need to.
But don’t disappear.
We need your voice here.
To new beginnings.
I was scared to tell my truth.
I didn’t know what would come from it.
What came back was love.
The love I’ve felt this week from people I know and people I’ve never met has been overwhelming in the most beautiful way.
Thank you for holding space for me.
For trusting me with your own stories.
This is what healing looks like.
I’m here. If you need me.
There have been many deaths in my life.
Not physical deaths. The deaths of versions of me. Some of them no one attended. No flowers. No obituary. Just silence.
In college, my life almost ended. In many ways, a version of me did. The girl I was before that day didn’t survive.
What survived was smaller. Quieter. Carrying shame that didn’t belong to her. Carrying fear in her shoulders. Carrying silence in her throat.
I learned how to function. How to produce. How to build rooms. But inside, something had collapsed.
Years later, life sent me a letter.
From prison.
From a woman who was part of the group that assaulted me. She asked for forgiveness.
It took me weeks to open it. Weeks to read it. Weeks of feeling my body remember.
I relived the fear. The humiliation. The ache of being attacked by multiple people men who inflicted violence, and a woman who chose it too. That betrayal carved deep.
I didn’t know what forgiveness meant. Was it weakness? Was it betrayal of myself? Or was it freedom?
Then I realized: the assault happened once. But the replay had been living in me for years.
Forgiveness is not about absolving them. It is about refusing to keep swallowing poison.
So I wrote back. Not to erase what happened. Not to give her freedom. But to reclaim my own energy.
Something shifted.
Forgiveness did not make it pretty. It did not undo harm. But it loosened the grip.
In a world where anger is loud and division is easy, I am learning a different kind of strength.
Forgiveness is an act of love. Not soft love. Courageous love.
Somewhere between trauma and ambition, I learned how to survive. But survival is not the same as expression.
Now I create truthfully alongside producing. I am reclaiming the actor. The writer. The dancer. The creator.
There have been many deaths in my life. But there have also been many rebirths. And this is another one.
I’m sharing this from a place of truth and intention. May it meet you wherever you are.
