relaunching my web portfolio — PULSEPULSE.WORLD ✷
here’s a peek at a few pages on desktop and mobile.
inside: interviews, portraits of creatives, brand copywriting, web design, zines, ideas shaping my practice, and more. welcome to my lil’ all-over-the-place mind!!!
as i wrote on the homepage, it’s a living extension of me—the work i do and the stories i love to tell. by the time you see these screenshots it’ll probably look a little different (because i can’t help tweaking). sharing work as i go, even when it’s not ‘done’.
always excited to tell stories with founders, creatives, and brands doing things differently—reach out if you’d like to dream something up together.
a few weeks ago i was going to be in Norwich for the weekend, and had an idea to reach out to Evvia of @loupystudio to be featured for Creative Living. the thought came at midnight and so i sent the message there and then, not knowing what to expect...
later that week, i found myself at Evvia’s, learning about where and how she makes her one-off pieces that often get snapped up in minutes.
knitting is ubiquitous now but something about @loupystudio feels so special, the way she explores colours, shapes, and textures. Evvia knits solely by intuition, pattern-free, inspired by bodies and materials. the thread of her craft has been choosing to work with vintage and reworked yarn, finding them always a treasure in itself.
little did i know that it also happened to be one of the final weekends before they were moving out of a place that was beginning to feel like home. so it felt like a timely moment - reminding me that being able to capture memories of people in the spaces they create and do what they love, for them to keep through constant transience, is why i do what i do.

i recently got to interview @thanaprd , design resident at @lichennyc , discussing how she came to working with metal, a pivotal moment in her practice, and what her dream project is.
we go deeper into what led her to make her first wearable design, the TOOTHLESS ring, and how it feels to design for a body versus a space.
she also tells us what she will ask Isamu Noguchi if given the chance.

interviewed @laurenibbs , the founder and creative director of @nnor.studio for Objectively #62.
i remember first discovering the label, obsessed with the way their clothing moved with the body. cut in just the right place. sculptural and deeply satisfying! felt like something you’d want to hug, or chew on.
after trying their Interactive T-shirt for myself, i wanted to get into Lauren’s mind, the way she sees the world, how each piece comes to be.

if you’ve ever felt the pull to start something, this one’s for you.
issue ✨#60✨ of Objectively features a special guest @danielgiacopelli , founder of @itsforstarters —an essential weekly briefing for the next generation of small business owners, shaped by his years at Monocle, Courier, and Mailchimp.
the small business agenda is close to my heart. i’d been meaning to reach out to Danny for over two years before finally doing it (the story’s in the piece)—a reminder that starting, or even just reaching out, often takes longer than we think. sometimes, a nudge is all it takes, which is exactly why For Starters exists.
we talked about growing a business alongside a full-time job, learning from generations of small business owners, what to build (and how), and the one truth every starter eventually comes to on their own.

the final Creative Living shoot of the year took me to writer @jennamahale ’s place, where i was greeted by her and her curious dachshund, Rani. they led me up the stairs, pointed out where i could hang my dripping raincoat, and offered me as many pieces of Kaju katli as i wanted.
over the afternoon, we talked about her writing rituals, what it’s like to write for herself, and contributing to platforms like Dazed, i-D, VICE, AnOther Magazine, and more. expectations versus reality. doubt and imposter syndrome. the fun gigs too—covering film festivals, reviewing books, chatting with their authors, interviewing musicians she (and you probably) admire.
as we wrapped up, her partner Arthur came in from the other room and we sat together until i had to leave for dinner. they talked about growing up nearby, how they met in school, and the ways they support each other’s work. all the while, Rani stayed on the couch, her usual spot when Jenna is writing there, happily trying to steal the spotlight.

how do you know when something just works? for furniture designer @faezahshaharuddin of @studiokallang , it’s about showing the piece without saying a word—“their first reaction tells me everything.”
in the latest Objectively, we talked about designing between her studios in singapore and nyc, building a reference library, her dad’s influence, and why she wants to be cyborgian.

the third roundup of cuties spotted—now up on Objectively! tube looks, accidental matching strangers, the girlies in new york, and more. last year’s backlog, but still cute.

Isabelle Angèle of @__dreamspaces is always arranging things! i’ve followed her reels for years, talking about anything design: buildings, chairs, interiors, tchotchkes, fashion sets… the iconic, the quirky, the overlooked. so getting to visit her own place in northwest London felt like seeing where all of that comes together.
facebook marketplace finds abound. my personal favorite: a kartell coffee table that’s technically too small for the space and somehow absolutely perfect. split level, with a roof terrace—count me obsessed. she lives in a modernist housing project, in a flat an architect reworked in ways that feel unexpected and clever. you pass by the bedroom first, then step up into the living room and kitchen. a small surprise that changes how you take in the space. and the thing that sold her? the shelves along the stairway, where she’s always rearranging treasures, gifted and found.

introducing <it’s the small things> on Objectively this week.
a new series about the objects that mark chapters in our lives and make a space feel like home. inspired by years of living light, moving often, and finding comfort in the small things collected along the way.
kicking it off with nicole (@nicoletjqbullet ): my stylish bestie with an impeccable eye and a cosy apartment. one sunday morning at her place, she picked things off shelves and yapped; i asked questions and snapped away. what we do, basically.
