The Climb Academy Music Series brings progressive sounds deep into Langdale Valley. As you know, we have a brand new space: the other people place - named in honour of Detroit electro pioneer James Stinson’s solo project, which remains an ongoing obsession for us. And you know us… we’re party people at heart. To celebrate the public launch of the other people place, we’re throwing a free-entry, two-floor FUN-ction this Saturday night. Down in renae, Zèyla takes the controls from early doors, seamlessly shifting through dancehall, Latin and funk before Ayy Den tags in at midnight, giving energetic house, snappy electro and wall-shaking UK funky. You know how Saturdays feel in renae - the best people, the best tunes, the best time, but now there’s more. Things kick off in t.o.p.p. at 10, as queer musician and DJ Modema fills the room with dark, dubbed-out downtempo, dreamy breaks and flirtations with light-footed techno - the perfect introduction to the 4-point Syva system and a sound tailor-made for this intimate space. At midnight, Aletha and Yant step up for a high-octane B2B, trading house, electro and dub techno weapons deep into the night. Low lights, high haze, and the right tunes to move you till close. When you create space for @zuri__fernandez and @lydiaaletha , they deliver. Our second instalment of In Amber was recorded live on January 11th and this five and half hour, all-night-long session from residents Aletha and Zuri captures a room in full orbit, tracing a journey where selection meets experimentation. From playful elements of prog house to squelchy acid and breaks, our two residents express a restless ear for unpredictability, layering dense low-ends into widening loops and syncopations. DTMF! will return for the last time this year for a special NYE Hothouse takeover at @thecauselondon alongside 6 other rooms of heavyweight artists ⭐️🪩💃 Super excited to dance with some of y’all into the new year as we bring you a lineup full of UK talent, flare and deepness 🤘🏾 We welcome @blackartistdatabase co-founder and stalwart of the underground scene, @niks_bad , for a set that is sure to be a journey. Fresh off the release of her powerhouse EP ‘Moves Like 2’, her sound consistently traverses the spectrums of dance music, blending the modern and percussive with the deep and rhythmic. Few DJs connect the dots between cult UK sounds and the foundations of techno and house like she does. Joining her is Manchester-based @lydiaaletha , a rising force and a regular across some of the UK’s most sought-after parties. With a sound that spans genres, rhythms, and textures – pulsing percussion, house, techno, electro, and subtle streaks of acid. Her Rinse show is always a treat and she is a DJ that has no issue in surprising you with her selections. Also gassed to have @kojayin join us – a now staple of London’s house scene, his radio shows are consistently packed with heat. With influences that run from jazz and roots dub through to deep house and broken beat. We’ve wanted him on a lineup for a minute, so having him spin for NYE feels right. Lydia (Aletha) hails from Manchester and began her DJ career as a regular contributor to radio. Aletha’s sound now spans genres, rhythms, and soundscapes, guiding listeners on an atmospheric journey that feels fresh and captivating every time she plays. Her sets often pulse with percussive beats, weaving together house, techno, and electro with subtle touches of acid. At moments, she delves into the deeper, psychedelic corners of her collection. Following a packed 2024 that included another sell-out edition of her own brand ‘CITRIC,’ Aletha has carried the momentum into 2025, gracing the decks at some of the most exciting underground clubs, spaces, and festivals. Highlights so far include a special b2b with NIKS at Glastonbury, a 3 slots across the week at Dimensions Festival, an Asia mini-tour, and standout appearances at venues such as RSO Berlin and The Warehouse Project Manchester. Aletha’s eclectic and intriguing acid led track selections and mixes have led to regular residencies for some of the best stations in the UK including Rinse FM and Worldwide FM. As well as feature mixes for electronic publications Mixmag, Ransome Note and DJ Mag.
