Portraits of Kehinde and Taiwo that I made for the artwork of our upcoming
@dtmfro shindig, taken in London, 2026 🪩
I met these two a couple weeks back in Vauxhall, just after leaving
@zone6press studio where I’d been going over some of my Berlin images with Johnny. As I stepped out, I spotted them – one of those moments where you gotta act quick. A corner of my eye is always devoted for faces for our posters, but afro twins was next level, especially given I'd always been a fan of images of the Islington Twins from back in the day ⭐️.
I got Kehinde’s details and texted him the week after. I told them to meet me at Bank and wear matching suits if they had them. I bought the shades from Tiger on the way there because I thought that would be the cherry.
I love photography for moments of serendipity like this – those small, chance encounters that turn into something bigger. It reminded me of something
@akinbodeakinbiyi wrote in the foreword to my book, Ékò:
“The longed for goal is serendipity, the coming together of what is within with what is out there. A fine, acute moment of happenstance, coincidence, being there, being prepared too to take, make, that particular image.”
That’s exactly what this felt like.
Hoping this is just the beginning with Kehinde and Taiwo as I think there are more posters to be made 😉
Big ups
@riddladesigns on the design and to
@tabi.ashnorm +
