Hi LungA family and friends. As the festival begins its big spiral sleep, the LungA School, our beloved offspring, continues to be born where the fjord waters lap, and hold situations to think about what an art school might be. Follow @lungaschool for updates as well as open calls for new programs 💞
The last ever LungA festival will take place 15-21 July.
We pay homage to the early years of the festival as we gracefully leave it to rest with a final closing ceremony, marking the end to a beautiful 25 years and handing over the space to the next grassroots cultural fantasy.
🔈 From LungA, a massive thank you to HS-Kerfi for the support! LungA has never sounded so good!
If you are planning events in North, West or East of Iceland, make sure to reach out to them. They are an absolute dream to work with and will take your events to another level!
Fró(u)n: Making Love to the Ground We Live on, led by @antoniberg and @elin_margot 🪨
The workshop participants blossomed and evolved through the night, with creations forgerd from found treasures. Some were swept away by the tide’s gentle caress, others transformed within the heart of a bonfire. Everyone was invited to bring offerings to the flames.
A HUGE THANK YOU to SVN (Síldarvinnslan) who sponsored the festival, gave beautiful spaces for workshops and artists to create new work, as well as hosting our crew. We are so grateful for Síldarvinnslan and the wonderful people who work there for all their help during the festival and their joy and excitement to support what we do 🐟💙
Workshop exhibition opening: Vibrating Bodies of Water Across Time, led by @jdkarmitage and @hyd.earth
The workshop participants created a sonic experimental exhibition, where viewers were invited to sync up with the frequency of water.
