I genuinely believe everyone has, at some point, a fascinating story; the only question is if it is the right moment/chapter to write about it. I love to interview people before they grow big, win national and world championships, or have established cafés. For me, it is important when you make a change the community around you and to have the right attitude. Dear all 🩵 It’s been almost one week since our panel “We need to talk. Mental health in the coffee industry”. It took me quite some time to feel, reflect and acknowledge what happened and how transformative this experience was. From just a random, loose idea we had with Ana @coffeeandtranslation to going on stage with Lucía @luciabawot and Fátima @felixdsfatima passed just a few months. Bringing such an important topic to the attention, to a stage on such a big event like @coffeefestofficial required us to be brave, resilient and come out completely out of our comfort zones. And I’m so proud of us. Fátima, Lucía, Ana, I can’t imagine a better team to go on that stage with. It was such an honour for me and as I said already several times... We can’t solve any issues in just 1h on stage but we can catalyse change, start the domino/ripple effect and make people in our industry change their lives. And I think we did! Thank you for all the messages and conversations we had after and that keep going! Real change is happening 🩵 As Lucía said: “Mental health doesn’t start with buzzwords or band-aids. It starts with community. It grows with listening. And it moves forward when we collect real data about the well-being of the humans who make this industry possible, so we can act proactively, not reactively. In 2025 I interviewed 50 amazing professionals for @europeancoffeetrip Barista Stories 🎉 These were not just interviews but stories of absolutely remarkable people in our industry. Some of them are inspiring champions, and successful café owners but also people who had unbelievable career twists, travelled the world to fall in love with coffee and not only inspired but created communities from scratch! It’s not about the titles and skills - it’s what you do with them and what impact you have on people whose lives you touch every day. Barista Stories’ heroes change the way we think about careers in coffee. And they are living examples that we can do so much in this beautiful industry, constantly grow and inspire each other. I grow as well with the series, not only in my writing, editorial and design skills but as a member of the Coffee Community. Barista Stories always kept showing new, beautiful shades of the colours of coffee. And it’s an honour that our series was nominated once again for the Sprudgie Awards @sprudge (voting btw finishes today 🤞🏼). I’m so happy it can keep going in 2026. I got an unusual gadget from @codale.workshop that fixes an issue I never thought I have... ...until I had! A wave filter loosing its shape while rinsing with water isn't necessarily a disaster but definitely annoying. The coffee filter shape holder fixes exactly that issue plus it can also nicely hold traditional cone-shaped filters so they snug nicely to the dripper while rinsing. Simple task, beautiful design! No more, no less! #codale
