Saatchi Gallery returns to the RHS Chelsea Flower Show 2026 with a new garden exploring sculpture, planting and participation.
Â
Created by kinetic artist @lucygreg0ry , garden designer @naomiferrettcohen , and supported by ING, the design celebrates the simple pleasure of gathering together outdoors and the positive effect nature can have on us.
Â
Guests will venture down the garden path into a vibrant and surreal environment of interactive, anthropomorphic tree-like structures. Inspired by the energy and rhythm of Matisseâs The Dance, visitors are invited to push the sculptures into motion â triggering a joyful, spiralling dance of limbs and hands as they spin.
Â
Gregoryâs large-scale figurative works, inspired by mechanical toys, Victorian automatons and early animation devices, invite visitors to activate the sculptures through participation and touch.

I'm thrilled to have been commissioned to create 'The Sun Tower' â a new, wind-activated, spinning sculpture for this year's International Kinetic Art Experience @cityofboyntonbeach , Florida! đ đ đ đşđ¸đşđ¸đşđ¸
This unique exhibition (opening this weekend) showcases 30 artists from all over the world who create kinetic art.
Big thanks to all the people that made this happen
@valeriezucker1 + her brilliant team

My parents - for letting me paint and build this in their dining room because it was too cold outside đ
The Sun Tower is a spinning kaleidoscope of colour and reflection inspired by the warm hues of the sky during sunset and sunrise - the most magical times of the day.
The artwork touches on themes of light, the sun and its power to enhance both our physical and mental health. Ironically, this sculpture was made in the peak of Winter in the darkest, coldest time of the year in the UK, and somewhat reflected the mood of the weather-obsessed nation that longs for the warmth of summer rays. The sculpture has now made the journey to Boynton Beach where it will cast colourful light puddles like an exploded disco ball as it spins in the wind. đ

âItâs All Kicking Offâ, is Lucy Gregoryâs invitation to the viewer to become both engine and performer in the surreal mechanisms of her kinetic sculptural collage. Its movement is reminiscent of a perpetual cancan, the disreputable dance that emerged in defiance of oppressive nineteenth century values which prevented women from showing their ankles or being out of breath. With cartoonish licence and a dose of slapstick humour, Gregory has flattened images of legs to create a work that is simultaneously both two and three dimensional, static and in movement. It kicks high in joyous defiance of artistic categories and conventions with viewer as accomplice. Â
This work continues Gregoryâs staging of collaborations between both bodies and machines using imagery drawn from historical photographic techniques and optical devices such as the zoetrope to create âanalogue GIFs for the post-internet worldâ.
Filled with flailing limbs and man-powered machinery, this free exhibition is a fun and thought provoking experience for visitors of all ages.

In a digital age where attention spans are shorter than a goldfishâs, artist Lucy Gregoryâs work challenges how we consume images. She employs a variety of sheet materials and oversized photographic cuts that blur the lines between 2D and 3D, creating an uncanny visual experience.
The title, Muscle Memory, alludes to the hypnotic rhythms of these mechanical works, while referencing the history of photography from Eadweard Muybridge to Victorian optical devices like zoetropes. These sculptures evoke a sense of analogue âGIFsâ in todayâs post-internet world.
