Planting Tomatoes everywhere now 🌱 This songs really shows where my head is at throughout a day- always floating back to people I’ve lost and what I will certainly lose over time. But I try to pay attention and stay enchanted with this life. I never know why I’m writing a song when I start to, but I know they keep me alive. There always has to be an idea to walk towards, whether it’s small or grand, stupid or serious. This song is one of those ideas, and so is this lyric video I made at a seven-story stationery store in Tokyo while testing out the pens. I hope you like it, and I hope you have things that are keeping you curious.

Introduced my dad to the boss, I have fulfilled my purpose. Needed to let y’all know because I knooow at least thousands of you have personally met my dad at shows and have some idea of what this means to him, and me. I may have made you sing him happy birthday, or you’ve seen him come up on stage to play Dancing In The Dark on guitar, or wished him a happy father’s day with me. I’m always trying to find ways to delight this little guy, but I’ll never do better than this. I learned what music was through listening to Bruce Springsteen as a kid, as early as I was learning to speak. His songs are as integral to me as the trees I grew up around. I wouldn’t write music the same way without him, maybe wouldn’t write music at all. It felt really good to see him lead an arena of people in chanting ICE Out Now, and hear him talk about police brutality, labor issues, immigrant rights, class disparity, and the failings of our government, as he has been for decades, in the songs or otherwise. He has been leading people out of bigotry his whole career. I’ll always respect him and be grateful he took the time to shake my dad’s hand.

They’re letting this guy sing with the @chicagophilharmonic at Millennium Park ! My mom is from Illinois, so I’ve been visiting this exact place since I can remember.
