Delighted and grateful to share that two of my photographs have been shortlisted for British Journal of Photography’s Portrait of Britain award (Vol. 6).
Alongside the work of many talented photographers, they will feature in the upcoming Vol. 6 book published by
@bluecoatpress & can also be viewed online via the BJP website.
This selected portrait of Erica was taken in Brixton, where I have been working on commission for
@photofusionuk to document the redevelopment of Brixton’s Recreation Centre through a social commentary lens (project still in progress).
I met the Erica in early July as I was packing up after a day of shooting. Sat in front of the blue wall, which conceals the construction site of the new Photofusion, I was drawn to her overall charismatic presence and captivating attire (her own design 🌻)
