We are sad to say Lot Projects closed its doors on Broadway Market Mews at the end of August. A big thank you to both the artists that we had the pleasure of working with and all those who attended our events. We don’t think this is the end of Lot Projects, so keep an eye out for future pop-up events, or maybe even a new space!

Join us this Sunday for our last event — “Here, Not.” book launch and exhibition! “Here, Not.” is an edited collection of conversations, photographic work, and creative writing, that investigate how arts and culture address belonging, identity and access in the urban spaces of Helsinki, Finland. At 7pm, the editor @micolcuratolo presents the publication and its contributors, in conversation with @ana11sva . Between 6-9pm, the multimedia work of @francesca.bogama will transform the gallery in an echo room populated with the sounds and colours of Helsinki’s suburban shores and of the streets of Lima, Perú. See you there ✨✨✨ Francesca Bogani Amadori (Lima, 1990) is a visual artist and artistic researcher based in Helsinki. Their work examines power configurations within geopolitical and sociocultural hegemonic places, mainly focusing on the interdependence of subjects and place. Bogani Amadori draws on the personal experience of dealing with (in)visible power dynamics through performance, walking, mapping, and active listening. Their diverse process-based practice focuses on attunement through sonic, relational, and affective methods to enable ways to (re)think place and self. Micol Curatolo is a cultural worker, curator, and producer. Her professional interest lies at the intersection of geography and identity. Micol’s current research moves from the concept of the borderzone within the local and the everyday, and the global and the historical. Her personal practice investigates how arts and culture negotiate belonging, participation, and experiences of migration. Here, Not. 7pm book launch 6-9pm exhibition “Here, Not.” is an edited collection of conversations, photographic work, and creative writing, that investigate how arts and culture address belonging, identity and access in the urban spaces of Helsinki, Finland. Thinking with borders, the book reflects on how cultural work participates in the global and local dynamics through which we produce geographies that are accessible, safe, and home for some and not for others. These reflections develop together with fourteen arts and cultural workers based in Finland. Their contributions focus on what is happening across and beyond the threshold of the art gallery, how art sits and is bridged into the city. At 7pm, the editor @micolcuratolo presents the publication and its contributors, in conversation with @ana11sva . Between 6-9pm, the multimedia work of @francesca.bogama transforms the gallery in an echo room populated with the sounds and colours of Helsinki’s suburban shores and of the streets of Lima, Perú. In anticipation of his upcoming show ‘My Soul Is Singing And Dancing To The Sound Of Art’, Lot Projects invited artist Mehtab Singh Sandhu to discuss his philosophy and journey through art. “…it is not with your brain that you experience art, it is with your soul. This is beyond time. The world may physically/ materially change, but the soul remains the same. Great art reminds you of this and transports you to the place of the soul. This is the purpose of art.” 📎 Find the full interview on linktree in our bio or follow the link https://linktr.ee/lotprojects ✏️Private View, this Thursday 08.08.24, 6-9pm ✏️ - all welcome, no RSVP required! 🔓Opening hours 09.08.24- 14.08.24 - 12am - 6pm Slides 1 & 3 📸 @ashishisshah Slide 2 📸 @amritssandhu

We are very excited to announce that Mehtab Singh Sandhu’s @advmehtabsandhu My Soul Is Singing And Dancing To The Sound Of Art will be showing at Lot Projects from the 8th-14th August. . Exhibiting selected works from 1970 to the present day, the exhibition is simultaneously a debut for the artist as well as retrospective of a lifetime of work. Curated by his daughter @amritssandhu she presents delicate sculptures and drawings brought over from Mehtab’s home studio in Amritsar, Punjab - all of which channel a simple truth that art is an experience of the soul. 🇮🇳💫⚡️✨ Private View 8th August 6-9pm ✨⚡️💫🇮🇳 . “I’m that fly on the wall; watching and observing, amazed and challenged by Mehtab Singh Sandhu’s, aka my dad’s, spirit and honesty, as translated in his paintings and sculptures. His ability to focus on experience with no definite ending or outcome, to be present in the moment, transports one to his truth and motive – a state of bliss.” - Amrit Singh Sandhu . with special thanks to @j.s.clayton and @_marie_claire

Producing sculptures, drawings, and paintings from a young age, works encompass a vital playfulness; often using everyday materials in a practice deeply rooted in experience over out-come. [My Soul Is Singing And Dancing To The Sound Of Art is Sandhu’s debut show. Curated by Amrit Singh Sandhu, his daughter, she presents a series of far traveled works; selected from Sandhu’s home studio in Amritsar, Punjab and exhibited here in the UK through a desire to share his previously hidden work with the rest of the world]. ‘MY ARCHIVES, YOUR ARCHIVES, OUR ARCHIVES’ Lot Projects, Broadway Market Mews, London,E8 4TS 24 - 25/07 | 14:00-17:00 26 - 28/07 | 10.00 - 17.00 Private view | 25/07/24 | 18.30 - 20.00 Taking as its starting point the Bilderatlas Mnemosyne by Aby Warburg, ‘My Archives, Your Archives, Our Archives’ presents quotes and references from the upcoming Arch-ive publication. This includes interviews with Adam Nathaniel Furman, Asif Khan, Building on the Built (Jonathan Tuckey and Peter Youthed), David Knight and Cristina Monteiro (DK-CM), Diana Ibáñez López, Edwin Heathcote, Manijeh Verghese, Roz Barr and Studio naama, as well as essays by Krish Nathaniel, Loretta Bosence and Rosie Ellison-Balaam. These references are presented alongside personal citations, intuitive connections and loosely related notes by Dominic Eley (Arch-ive) and Rosie Ellison-Balaam (Folly). In the manner of the Warburg Atlas, connections have been instinctive, rather than defined by a rigid academic framework. To help focus the exhibition, six loose themes have been defined, sometimes with a duality to broaden the theme and instigate a wider range of interactions: Analogue / Digital Ghost References Nature / Culture New Perspectives Slowness Structure / Structural As part of the exhibition, we invite you to add your own references under the selected themes, to collect together ‘Our Archives’ expanding the scope of the constellation. – @arch___ive @folly_arch
