Every once in a while, you wake up and realize, shit, I’m getting old. It’s relative. Some people who have lived less would agree, while the oldies would say something like “Talk to me when you’re __ (insert old age)” or “what do you wash your face with?!”. I think the social dispute can happen at any age. Like I said, it’s relative.
Today is one of those days. Shit, I’m getting old. If you pay attention, there are check points. This is a check point. It’s my birthday. There I said it. I made a record. There I said it. It was hard to make, harder to finish, and near impossible to release. It was picked up and put down more times than I’ll admit. But it’s a check point.
If you’re curious, go listen. I particularly think tracks 1,6&8 are funny. Maybe 7. Definitely 8. The rest are serious, discussing matters of consequence, moral concern, and love. At some point you get to an age where you’ve dabbled in a little bit of everything. Maybe you’re there, maybe you aren’t. I am. This was me dabbling.

@theesamip sang beautifully & badass-idly on tracks 1,2,3,4,5&7. She helped me not quit in the middle and for that I owe her most everything, she also took the wheel (Jesus) getting tones engineering.
@steezmeez drummed on 1,2,3,4&7. She ferociously ripped thru the songs in 1 day, and I’m p sure she did it all in a onesie! Which if you think about it, underlines her streamlined efficiency.
@dustinbookatz made one of the best bass lines I’ve ever heard on track 7, one of those “F***k!! this is too good”. He also played on tracks 3&4 and I’m pretty sure buried in 8 is a fretless bass. Griffith Snyder played keys here/there, added an audio sample at end of song 3. In every creative process you need someone to give you perspective. Sometimes it’s helpful and sometimes it isn’t. But truth be told, I couldn’t be bothered by most any perspective, I was dabbling! My bff mix lord party legend
