The new sculptures at Anderson Park are officially open for use! @lookinguparts has been working hard for the past two years on this installation, and we love how it turned out. Stop by and use the tables and chairs when you get your Farmers Market treats, look for all of the local plants and music shapes in the sculptures, and especially make sure you come back at night time to see the lanterns light up this corner of downtown!
Thanks to the @cityofjacksontn and @jacksontnparks for their partnership with us on this project!
Another year of making art both big and small in the books!
In 2025 (and heading into 2026), we’re excited to go deeper into creating public art and education in addition to our usual larger-than-life LED sculptures.
Here’s what we built this year!
1. Resin printed protea flower in collaboration with @colorandlightart
2. Laser cut steel sculptures, tables, and chairs for the @cityofjacksontn farmers market
3. FEEL LOVE for @initioparfumsprives
4. Phoenicopterus Rex for @daytripla
5. Namaskaram for @burningman
6. 1 year anniversary of @thewabashlights
7. Interlace at @pricelessfest
8. LED neon signs for @databricksinc (Cubes by @symmetrylabs )
9. Paralux LED bars, lanterns, and butterflies at @ofjcc

We also led a lantern-making workshop for @drewschool , where high school students learned the basics of lantern design and laser cutting, as well as a data visualization workshop with @depaulu for the Wabash Lights.

Thanks for a great year, Chicago!
As 2025 comes to a close, we are feeling incredibly grateful. This year marked one full year of The Wabash Lights, and what a year it has been. From our one-year anniversary Sidewalk Lightshow and collaboration with @recklessrecords -- to ongoing creative programming with @lookinguparts and @depaulu -- @thewabashlights continues to evolve as a living, breathing reflection of the people that make our city so special.
If you're looking for a meaningful way to give back, consider making a tax-deductible donation to help keep the lights glowing into 2026. Link in bio. ❤️✨💸
Every donation helps us maintain the installation, commission new programming, and keep the magic glowing under the L.
The Wabash Lights is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit powered entirely by generous supporters. No public tax dollars have ever been used to fund this project.
Thanks to all our followers, funders, and believers for lighting the way with us!
With gratitude,
The Wabash Lights Team

Community-built art changes lives. ✨Donate to our end of year fundraiser today!
This year, we welcomed fifteen high school students into our workshop for a week-long lantern-making intensive. They designed and laser-cut their own illuminated sculptures — and walked away knowing they are artists, too. 🏮💡
To keep workshops like this (and so much more) going into 2026, we’re launching our 2025 Year-End Fundraiser with a goal of $6,000 to support our annual operating costs.
Here’s how your gift helps:
🔧 $750–$1,000 → New tools & equipment
🧰 $300–$600 → Workshops, insurance & volunteer programs
🏠 $250 → One month of rent at Upside workshop
🔥 $100–$200 → Welding supplies for training
🎨 $25–$100 → Materials to experiment with (plywood, LEDs, paints & more)
As a thank-you, donors can choose Namaskaram rewards — and if you’re missing swag from Flamingo, Rainbow Bridge, or Sirsasana, we might have treasures tucked away. 👀

Last week, we installed a new functional art piece at Anderson Park by @lookinguparts ! It features geometric shapes and patterns to create usable tables and chairs in the area around the Farmers’ Market. The artwork also has a lighting feature that turns these shapes into beautiful lanterns at night! Thank you to @cityofjacksontn for making this possible and to the Looking Up Arts team for creating such an amazing piece of art.
Please excuse the caution tape temporarily around the artwork while we finish getting it ready to use.

Namaskaram: A Journey of Art, Trust, and Community
It’s hard to put into words the feeling of seeing a concept submitted online go from a simple rendering to a tangible reality on the playa. Namaskaram was more than an art project; it was a result of harmonious collaboration and the incredible generosity of the Burning Man community.
Thank you to every single person who contributed—whether with your time, your skills, your donations, or your encouragement. You are the heart and soul of this piece. Your trust and belief in this vision made it possible.
This was a short but challenging journey, filled with hardships and triumphs, and we are so proud of what we created together. Seeing the piece shine under the desert sky and seeing it embraced by the community were moments we will never forget.
