Slúchadlo originated as an idea for a sound object that would interact with the surroundings of LOM and its visitors. @jonas.gruska had already explored this theme in one of his previous works and decided to transform it into a miniature exhibition space. He approached @ondreickovaolivia to curate a selection of artists whose works will be presented through Slúchadlo. Slúchadlo will be located directly in front of the LOM space in Bratislava’s Petržalka district, with a new sound work presented every month. Slúchadlo is a newly created micro-gallery that will be accessible 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Every month, it will present specially designed sound installations that serve as a dialogue with its surroundings and encourage the audience to listen attentively. Slúchadlo invites you to slow down and listen.

To honor LOM’s 15th anniversary, a report has been produced that maps memories of its fifteen-year-long existence. The focus is on the people and their personal perceptions of this cultural space and its activities. Reporter @hronskyy engages in both spontaneous and planned conversations with people connected to LOM. Instead of a traditional interview, he creates an open environment where respondents have the freedom to reminisce. This is not a chronological overview, but a mosaic of personal experiences that together form a collective memory. The resulting whole comes across as a fluid stream of memories and associations. The piece will be running during celebration of 15 years of LOM this Saturday on the 2 May 2026 from 17:00 till 22:00. See you there! There will be an exhibition from the history of LOM, special edition of @sluchadlo by @hronskyy , small lecture (about our history) by @jonas.gruska , two concerts (@tomas_knoflicek and Izabela Dłużyk) and a proper birthday cake + food by @dvanastdusi . The sound work domovfón is based on the principles of oral history. Through a metaphorical intercom, the author enters a local day centre for seniors and holds conversations with its visitors. He asks the seniors open-ended questions, allowing them to speak freely about their memories, experiences, and everyday life in Petržalka before and after the housing estate was built. The recording captures authentic voices and natural reactions without formal moderation of the dialogue. The work is conceived as a collage of multiple recordings and imitates the sonic aesthetic of an intercom. The result is an intimate sonic testimony to the collective memory of older people living in LOM’s neighborhood. @suburbandrifter is a radio editor and cultural worker from Austria, based in Bratislava. He regularly contributes to cultural and artistic projects from Slavutych in Ukraine to Banská Belá in Slovakia. His work often addresses themes such as everyday life, migration, and informal vernacular practices on the periphery. His projects include the artistic-research platform Stadlnova, built around the idea of a fictional suburb between Vienna and Bratislava. Come join us at the opening on 23rd of April at 19:00!
