In the fall of 2021, @seanophone and I made this photo series of our fairy godmother, Chicago fashion legend, @robin.richman wearing a collection of archival clothing curated from her own closet. On Thursday May 14, you can shop these pieces (and many more) at the @robinrichmanstore @landofode archival sale. “Not Ready”, the Official Music video for @juliaminkin , is out now :) This was shot back in October and was the first video I worked on after having a child. We talked a lot on this set about the glory of the indie sleaze moment and aughts music in general. I feel like the spirit of that era definitely infused its way into this video and reconnected me to that essential time in my youth when music and culture are the MOST important thing. While things are definitely a little more complicated in my life now, I deeply appreciated the reminder to enjoy art and to allow that simply joy to be important too. “Lavender Cowboy” Official Music video for @lonesomeandrew . So grateful to have directed the video for the first single off of Andrew’s debut album “American Rough”. Get ready because the whole album is absolutely gorgeous. I will never forget the first time I saw Andrew sing ( at the @emptybottle ). It was literally a movie moment in my life, and I’ve felt this collaboration coming ever since. 
Lavender Cowboy was written in honor of the late Patrick Haggerty ( @lavendercountryofficial ). How cool it was to learn about Patrick and create something in his memory with someone who loved him so dearly. In January I flew to LA to make this music video for dancing queen @lillielala_music ‘s song ARROW. It is out now and you should go watch it. You should also put Lillie in your movie because she is an excellent performer and picked up @minimoroni ‘s Choreo insanely fast. We filmed it in a parking lot owned by a family who were friends and neighbors of my grandmother for many decades. I remember watching Spirited Away at their house for the first time as a kid. This was my first trip to LA since my grandma passed away, and the first time I’ve ever been to that city having no family left there. After we finished our shoot, I drove by her house of over 50 years to see it was being remodeled. Today I celebrate the 13 years I’ve spent with my wonderful partner @seanokonr . I often say that we’ve had 10 different relationships over the course of our relationship, but 2 weeks and 2 days ago we truly entered into a new era as we became parents to a perfect little boy. Today was also our son’s expected due date. And while we feel only joy that he is here with us now, his early entrance put our partnership to the test in ways we could not have predicted- including the sudden passing of my grandmother Linda while I was in labor. I could not have asked for a kinder, stronger or more supportive person to stand beside me and navigate what will (hopefully) be one of the most challenging experiences of my life. My gratitude and love for Sean grows more with each passing year. Also out today is a project that is very close to my heart. My dear friends @mermaid.band first sent me the demo of “PURR” in 2021- a song they wrote in the wake of George Floyd’s murder and the relentless feelings of scrolling through social media in the wake of tragedy. It was an honor to help them create a video to represent such a song. To combine horror, atrocity and doom with the feeling that you just have to keep dancing, keep swimming, keep scrolling, is something that so many people live with on a daily basis in today’s world. Thank you @brittanycampbellmusic and @candacequarrels for being who you are. I love you both so very much!!
