Warm Love Cool Dreams Music & Arts Festival from Empty Bottle Presents returns May 23rd & 24th at the Salt Shed in Chicago.
The wide-ranging, multi-genre festival takes place across the entirety of the Salt Shed facility: indoors, outside on the Fairgrounds, as well as the cocktail bar Three Top Lounge and arcade Elston Electric. Warm Love Cool Dreams proudly features the inclusion of Oddball Market and the Arts of Life Studio Sale, as well as river boat rides around Goose Island for attendees.
The festival boasts an exciting, eclectic lineup that runs the gamut, including Australian indie royalty Courtney Barnett, the genre-shapeshifting maestro Toro y Moi and legendary Scottish post-punk quartet The Jesus and Mary Chain. Alongside Chicago mainstays Tortoise, Whitney and Pixel Grip and sensations of the underground like Nourished By Time, Smerz and YHWH Nailgun, Warm Love Cool Dreams aims to amplify the next wave of boundary-pushing artists, connecting the city of Chicago to the worldwide avant-garde in one unified, forward-thinking celebration.

It’s nearly impossible to describe Lolina’s music, their process; what in the hell is exactly going on. Often-disorienting, impressionistic, uncanny valley transmissions. The metamorphosis of Alina Astrova is better analyzed by the artist’s work and trajectory over the years: performing as Inga Copeland in a similar fashion to Lolina, or collaborating with Dean Blunt in lo-fi experimental duo Hype Williams, as well as running the most-excellent Relaxin’ Records. Unpredictable but immediately recognizable, Lolina continues to push the envelope through the ether. See it come to life this Thursday.

What could be more perfect? The Welsh multi-disciplinary musician, songwriter and producer Cate Le Bon’s otherworldly music defies any and all classification– an architect of sound who builds rich, emotional landscapes through their unique abstractions, textures and tone.
We’re also pleased to host New York via Chicago favorites Horsegirl, whose last album, the fantastically bright twee-pop odyssey Phonetics On and On, was produced by none other than Cate Le Bon. Kitship, the freak-folk solo project of Amaya Peña opens what is sure to be a night of pure bliss. Welcome back to the cemetery.
