it's been a year since my mom passed on. everything I try to write falls short. nothing has clear answers anymore. there's so much I want to say. so much I want you to understand. i might spend the rest of my life trying to explain how different everything looks and feels now. what grief has taught me about being alive. about what kind of life is possible, and how much I want it while I still have the chance.
I can say with confidence that I'm so grateful for everyone who has taken care of me this year. thank you for your patience and gentleness.

A week has passed since Rachel Diane Grady's @bow_bat event THE MAGDALENE: A Ritual Fashion Show And here are my thoughts 🕯️
I am constantly in awe of Rachel's bravery, passion, and commitment to transmute her dreams into reality, while bringing so many of us into the fold to participate in the act of creation. It can’t be understated how many roles she played through this process. Not only did she pour her heart into 7 amazing looks, she wove in spirituality and community care into their debut. She highlighted the humanity inherent in the artistic practice. It’s such a testament to her dedication to her relationships that so many of us jumped at the chance to contribute. It brought me so much joy to give my art and time to this project and I know the entire Magdalene team feels the same way. I witnessed from all of us, the way true strength comes from true vulnerability. That is what Rachel asked of us, to be completely present with each other in order to take part in something a little bigger and a little more magical than any of us could create on our own. Collectively we raised nearly $1,300 for the Lillith fund @lilithfund As the Texan in the room it meant so much to me to see that level of solidarity from the LA community. Our struggles are always connected.
Rachel I love you more than words can say. And to all the models, musicians, photo/videographers, and stage team, from the bottom of my heart: thank you.
