Big Shoutout to the men and women of Saddle Up
Thank ya'll for letting me into your world for a few hours it was truly an honor and hopefully this is just the start. Ya'll have REAL history and a story that demands to be told. The authenticity, The grit, The resilience, The come ups and the set backs, The OG's down to the kids everybody knows how to ride. There was no fear in anyone on a mount and that is truly inspiring to see in our people, that despite whatever situation has come your way you faced it head on and bull-strong. The fires, The distance between members, The branching out of members to start other Black cowboy organizations, The loss, and the gain. This is another part of Black History that they tried to diminish and withhold from us but we refuse and resist all attempts to make us appear less than or inadequate in any way.

we lost a LEGEND
Kiki Shepard was loving, kind, intense, inspiring, eloquent, hilarious, and extremely genuine. As co-host of Showtime at The Apollo she was around and encouraged a ton of emerging artist on one of the world's most famous stages in Harlem, New York. Some of those artists would go on to be famous household names. I had the honor of capturing her image at the Delta Sigma Theta Gospel Brunch on March 8th, 2026. Literally just days before her transition to glory and just seeing the love she was surrounded by and the amount of people who were deeply affected by her passing lets me know that she lived an amazing life to be proud of.
Rest in Love Kiki Shepard the lives you have touched..whether they be friends, family, associates, entertainers, etc.. will never forget the impact, the inspiration, and the love you shared while you were with us on this Earth. ✨🕊️❤️💚🖤🕊️✨
Compton Photowalk was successful and amazing!! I saw some people i haven't seen in a awhile, met some new people, volunteered my time so others could feel safe in doing what they love and because i was operating in that function of love i was able to remain present. It's not about us all the time.I can honestly admit I lose sight of that at times. But being in community with so many talented and likewise individuals and being utilized in service to others allowed me to focus and get out of my shell. It's really like im two different people. When im helping others i speak and move in a positive way. When im more in a personal function i shrink into my usual negative homebody myself. I'm working on it..its a process...getting out here and participating in events like this are moving me in the right direction.
