This various artists release is a snapshot of everything we stand for: a wide spectrum of electronic music filtered through our strong love for bass-driven aesthetics. Different backgrounds, tempos, and moods coexist, reflecting the many dancefloors, late nights, and shared moments that have shaped our identity over the years. We were born and raised within the unique environment of @leoncavallospa , and Lobo has always existed slightly off the beaten path, at a distance from traditional club culture, both physically and conceptually. That distance became an incubator for ideas, giving us the freedom to experiment, take risks, and build something that felt necessary rather than fashionable. Even in the face of uncertainty, including the recent eviction, we continue to transform challenges into creative energy. With this release, we take a decisive step forward: from being more than just a club night, Lobo officially evolves into a label. This compilation is not only a celebration of the past, but also a statement of intent for what comes next. The album features friends and long-time contributors to the collective such as Broke One, Robotalco, Kwality, Odd Shy Guy, Fabio FC, Ayce Bio, and more, alongside contributions from our residents DNN and Ormeye. Finally, SLATE and LOBO together! Two different sounds, two local crews. We’re very happy to host one of the crews that has been active in our city’s scene for over 15 years. Lobo is a collective of DJs, promoters and musicians born inside @leoncavallospa , pushing electronic music beyond market logic. Rooted in soundsystem culture, it moves between clubs and independent spaces, inspired by forward-thinking sounds from Europe and the UK. Over the years, Lobo has hosted key names like Mala, DJ Storm, dBridge, NVST, Lefto, Mantra and Stenny, building a bridge between local and international scenes. Raised within Leoncavallo, Lobo has grown a strong community, supporting collectives, new local DJs, and evolving into its own label. Lobo is bass music, jungle, techno. This Friday at Arca, Balleremo and Lobo will host a special guest: @dreadlionsound brought inside the club for a one-off installation. An independent, self-built sound system rooted in dub, dancehall, jungle and bass culture, built around a deeply physical approach to sound, where low frequencies are not treated as a layer, but as movement, shaping both body and space. Moments like this take form when different realities choose to meet halfway. Bringing a handcrafted sound system into a club environment is never just a technical gesture — it is a shared act of trust, where different visions align to create something that expands beyond their individual identities. To do so inside a club as well-established as Arca — a place that already moves with its own strong identity — makes this encounter all the more meaningful. Behind operations like this lies a wider underground network, made up of those who, often quietly, pursue their passion with dedication — making immense sacrifices so that all of us can experience music at its highest level. Over time, paths within this world continue to cross, sometimes growing into relationships that extend far beyond specific events. One of these bonds is with Luca, the mind behind Dreadlion Firestarter, with whom countless nights have been shared — filled with laughter, chaos and defining moments, carried by a mutual commitment to sound and to the people who gather around it. Domani e dopodomani ci saranno le prime due presentazioni di 𝘜𝘯 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘰. Dalle 19 alle 23, giovedì saremo a Roma, al Villaggio Globale, nello studio di Motorefisico. Venerdì a Milano, ad Arca. Sono presentazioni speciali perché nascono con la collaborazione di @reveries_rome e @lobosound , due realtà di quello che ho chiamato contro-clubbing: feste e serate costruite sull’accoglienza, l’accettazione, la ricerca, il benessere, la comunanza. Balla e difendi. Guardandoli lavorare, rivedo le stesse complicazioni, gli stessi dubbi, gli stessi desideri con cui avevamo a che fare Riccardo Petitti e io alla metà degli anni Novanta. Siamo alla metà degli anni Venti del Duemila. Il tempo è diverso. Ma spero che chi oggi si sbatte per quello che chiamo contro-clubbing possa trovare in questo libro non la nostalgia di una scena passata, ma idee, pratice, errori e tentativi da raccogliere e usare. Per questo le prime presentazioni le faccio con loro. Perché siamo omologhi in tempi molto diversi. Insieme a me ci saranno @dozzy , @piano_zer0 , @damirivic1974 , @dnndnndnn , @monicawittyy , @claudiobiuz . Al Villaggio Globale si accede dal Lungotevere Testaccio, dalla parte del ponte. It’s no easy task to condense what @pinch_tectonic has meant to electronic music over the past twenty years into a single post. What can be said is this: few artists embody Bristol’s central role in the global underground quite like he does. His work spans a vast constellation of labels from his own Tectonic Recordings, a cornerstone in itself, to Livity Sound, Swamp 81, Deep Medi, Ninja Tune, Warp and far beyond. And then there are the connections, the exchanges, the shared paths: Peverelist, Shackleton, Mumdance, Flying Lotus… just fragments of a much wider network. A defining force in the evolution of dubstep, Pinch has consistently pushed beyond the boundaries of dance music, shaping a language that is both deeply expressive and unmistakably his own. Sono felice di presentare 𝘜𝘯 𝘱𝘶𝘣𝘣𝘭𝘪𝘤𝘰 𝘮𝘦𝘳𝘢𝘷𝘪𝘨𝘭𝘪𝘰𝘴𝘰 accompagnato da Flipper, che negli anni raccontati nel libro è stato direttore artistico del Leoncavallo. Con lui, Riccardo e io, abbiamo combinato parecchie cose che non chiedevano permesso. I primi due incontri, il 9 aprile a Roma e il 10 a Milano, sono organizzati con l’aiuto prezioso di Reveries e Lobo, due serate che, come mi piace dire, sono nipotine di Agatha. Mi sembra il modo giusto per rimettere in circolo una storia personale che riguarda più di una scena, più di una città e più di una generazione. Ho scritto questo libro anche per chi, come loro, si sbatte a organizzare serate e fare politica nel suono. Siccome non ho mai capito perché chi scrive debba poi spiegare quello che ha scritto e continuo a trovarmi in difficoltà nel farlo, insieme a me ci saranno amici e sconosciuti, dischi e musica. Proveremo ad attingere alla storia per organizzare il presente, connettendo Roma, Londra e Milano, club culture e contro-clubbing, biografia e storia collettiva. Flipper, come fa sempre nei suoi talk, ha trovato una parola legata a Riccardo Petitti: sottrazione. Togliere l’ego, i convenevoli, le certezze degli altri. “Un DJ set si costruisce togliendo.
