Ode to the Barbican
First in a new series, Ode to, where I shine a spotlight on places, people and things that I revere. Starting with the Barbican Estate, a brutalist maze that blends both concrete and nature in the heart of London.
Built on land heavily bombed during WWII, the Barbican was built between 1960 and 1976 as a radical vision of urban living. It was meant to be a self-contained “city within a city”, with walkways, gardens, flats, a church, a school and later, Europe’s biggest arts centre.
I’ve lost count of the amount of times I’ve shot here over the past decade but its not an exaggeration to say I find something new with every visit.

At this time of year I try my best to get up to Richmond Park for every Sunrise. To say that this place is magical at this time of year would be an understatement.
Ode to Richmond Park
Second in the Ode to series, where I shine a spotlight on places, people and things that I revere. This time it is Richmond Park, a place very dear to my heart.
I have explored, shot and wandered here more times than I can count over the past decade or so, yet it never feels the same twice.
A belated look back at 2024. Over the next year I plan on sharing a lot more on this app, especially when it comes to showing the behind the scenes of running and operating @coda.filmworks with @calumcurrie and @chrisnicholasdirector . If that sounds even remotely interesting, do stick around.
