Working with research from The National Oceanography Centre (@nocnews ) it’s a goopy love letter to matter, phytoplankton and transformation. We’re so excited to be part of @bristol.experimental.puppet and to be performing alongside @beanpigpuppets & @flawedmandraketheatre . A few days late for world puppetry day.. belated celebration after graduating from @curiouspuppetry this month 💕💕💕💘💘❣️❣️❣️♥️♥️♥️ It was an unbelievable honour to learn from some of the best in the bizz alongside this gorgeous bunch of puppet nuts. So lucky to have made life long friends from all across the world, I miss you all very much already. Lead by the ultimate powerhouse @sarahwght and supported by @jemimayong . Thank you for your overflowing passion, inspiration and care in making this whole journey so unforgettable and transformative. The puppets and their operators have taught me so much around organising collectively, listening to non human, material and bodily intelligence and the endless potential of imagination and storytelling. We won an award!! The Rye Lane Fruit Palace won a TET Inspire 2025 award for “Healthy Spaces”, and we can’t really believe it. We’re so happy. TET (@thorntoneducationtrust ) are all about getting young people engaged with their built environment. In their words: “this project provided a powerful and true connection to its place, illustrating a holistic interpretation of health that went far beyond the physical.” In case you missed it, the Rye Lane Fruit Palace was our pop-up playground installation outside of Peckhamplex, co-designed with local children and inspired by the fruits of Rye Lane market. Kids made up fruits and we made them IRL. Together with artists @maiamagoga and @llllika we ran workshops, designed and built the installation, with the help of dozens of amazing volunteers and experts, including consultants @dreamnetworks_play4all on the principles of co-design, play design and safety. In giving this to us, TET have not only supported a DIY project/collective on the outside of normal art/architecture practice, but they’ve recognised the beliefs that underpinned it: that PLAY and FUN, and the surprise of encountering things like dragonfruit slides on your walk home, is a positive thing for our health and communities. Some kids, about 8 y/o, came up to us on the first day and said, “what’s this for?” We just replied, “for fun”. It looked like a gear was shifting in their minds… the value of fun, in and of itself. Enough of a reason. Equally, it was sad and kind of predictable how many kids asked if it was free/how much it was to go on the slide. We’re feeling the need to do more things like this, and feel so encouraged to have had our creative work received like this in the world, especially for something beyond our festival. So please holler if you’d like to talk about anything else relating to kids co-design, re-imagining play spaces or the great outdoors. Hopping, skipping and jumping at the ever inspiring @kneehighbarns last month

Just over a month since the opening of the glorious ‘Rye Lane Fruit Palace’. We asked young people how they liked to play, and attempted to situate them in a larger ecological cycle with their food through sensory storytelling. Using their imaginings, we codesigned this space, with and for them. This project was made possible by a very inspiring, generous and committed team of volunteers, who came with such openness to learn new things and to share their skills and expertise. Huge thank you to everyone who mucked in!! Also thanks to @peckhamlevels for your generous contribution of space, and to @dreamnetworks_play4all for your thoughtful consultations. Mostly it couldn’t have happened without my wonderful co-creators @marinasblake and @maiamagoga ❤️❤️❤️ It was an honour to make something for this legendary space, alongside this absolute dream team. Announcing… 𝑹𝒀𝑬 𝑳𝑨𝑵𝑬 𝑭𝑹𝑼𝑰𝑻 𝑷𝑨𝑳𝑨𝑪𝑬!  It is with great joy and excitement that we announce our newest, most beautiful and bananas project, the Rye Lane Fruit Palace, coming to Peckham from 20-28th September as part of @peckhamfestival .  Inspired by the myriad of fruits in Rye Lane’s markets, co-designed with local school children from Angel Oak Primary and brought to life by local artists @llllika and @maiamagoga , this is a free, pop-up playground installation packed with colour and imagination.  So far this has been the most incredible journey of steep learning curves, deep collaboration and continuously being humbled by the unfiltered creative genius of children, the generosity and knowledge of the humans who’ve dedicated their lives to play, and by the complimentary skills we keep discovering in one another.  We won’t give too much away until you can experience it in real life… but if you come to Peckhamplex from 20-28 Sept, you will likely find a giant dragonfruit slide (all the kids said their favourite fruit was a dragonfruit!), a tiny fruit stall, a seating & climb area made from repurposed pallets and plastic bags, and, of course, some giant soft-play replicas of the plasticine fruits that the kids invented! 🍓 We have so much more to say about this project but for now, just get it in your diaries, bring your kids/nephews/nieces, and come be part of Peckham Festival!  And, if you’re keen to help out or get involved, we’re still looking for some volunteers to help us with finishing touches, or if you know anyone who might be up for donating even a small amount to the project we’d love to know [it’s run up quite a lot more than we were expecting 🙃] 📍Moncrieff Place, Peckham (outside of Peckamplex)  🛝Recommended for kids under 12, optimal for kids 3-9 🎟️Free to attend  🍒🥭🍓🍉🍌 Lastly, a huge thank you to @southwarkcouncil ’s Cultural Celebrations Fund for making this dream into a reality, and to all the volunteers whose support so far has literally made this happen!  🙌 Poster by our dear @_josie_tucker_ .  🔗Read more on our website, link in bio.
