@lizzyross performing her original unreleased tune "Call It Even" off her upcoming solo album. This intimate performance was shot inside my dad's historic childhood home in rural Arkansas during last October's @levon_helm_jubilee , and includes some harmonies from me.
"I wrote Call it Even at the end of a long breakup," says Ross. "In the end, letting go of old debts and stories is what set me free. Sometimes there’s nothing to figure out, and the best way we can love is to move on."

It was a warm day, but my hands were shaking with the energy of the people past and present. It’s a sacred place. It inspires me to remember that Levon Helm started like us all - a child chasing joy. I feel grateful and lucky to get to offer a song back to him, and to feel the glow of the community and the music he cultivated.
