Our greenhouse gas pollution has increased 🌎 temperature by 1.5° Celsius, which is 3-4° Fahrenheit!
This is causing desertification, drought, and disturbing Nature’s ability to balance itself. Even the smallest of misalignments can be catastrophic. Case & point the bark beetle.
By killing trees, bark beetle outbreaks can significantly influence forest carbon storage and cycling. At the same time, current research shows that warming summer and winter temperatures are driving beetle population outbreaks in susceptible forests, and allowing these insects to persist in habitats previously constrained by cold temperatures (

I highly recommend watching
@yearsofliving episode “End of the Woods” - free on YouTube - to learn more about how bark beetles are impacted by warmer temperatures and how this is effecting our forests causing more intense wildfires.
One of the reasons I was so excited by
@fantasticfungi is
@paulstamets research on using fungi strains to control destructive insect species. I’m keen on learning more about indigenous fire management practices and marrying these with regenerative agriculture so we can be proactive in regenerating and managing our land as we adapt to climate change.
@realdonaldtrump continues to ignore scientific consensus & pretends greenhouse gas pollution is not an issue and then says he cares about clean air & water. This is insane.
Vote
@joebiden &
@kamalaharris if you want a shot at healing our planet. The future is bleak if we all sit and wait for someone to do something. The science is clear, we can do something - time is of the essence.
