Hi, if you're new here ,we’re Healthy Living Platform! 🍎 Connecting communities through food! We are a non-profit organization in Lambeth. Our goal is to promote good health and empower individuals with the knowledge and tools for a sustainable healthy lifestyle. What do we do? We strongly believe that a healthy, sustainable lifestyle is important, which is why we give practical training, education, information and support on topics such as nutrition, cooking, food growing, health and wellbeing to help make this happen. We also develop community programmes and activities that empower local people and are self-sustaining. We’ve currently got lots of exciting projects going on… 👩‍🍳 Food Ambassador Training - Leads to gaining a Level 2 Food Hygiene Certificate through a 3 session course that teaches about healthy cooking and zero waste and prepares people to cook in their communities, 🚛 Surplus Food Hub - surplus food warehouse receiving donations from FareShare/Felix Project City Harvest and bought food from funds, feeding approx. 5k households each month. 🛒 Community Pantries – currently have 5 low-cost community food shops across Lambeth offering variety, healthy choice and dignity. 🥗 Recipe Kits - raw ingredient recipe kits distributed through our community pantries for home-cooking created and co-written by the community. 🧒 LEAP into Healthy Living – a partnership with our funders - Lambeth Early Action Partnership - to deliver a programme of healthy eating, food growing, access to healthy food and physical activity for families with children under 4 and pregnant mothers For more information about the charity and how to donate, visit our website: healthylivingplatform.org Sign up to our newsletter to keep up-to-date with what’s going on and job opportunities here: https://lnkd.in/etrH75CY For collaborations, questions and volunteering, email us at: [email protected] Follow us on social media! ❄️ Happy New Year! ❄️ Wishing everyone a healthy and fruitful 2026! Come wind, rain — or this week… snow — we keep moving 52 weeks of the year, working hard to keep food on the table for thousands of people across Lambeth. For the 3rd year running our festive service has been supported by the generous loan of a portaloo helping the team stay on site and keep going. Huge thanks to Flex Interiors and @travisperkinsco and @hirenixon for making that possible 🚽 In the final two weeks of December 2025 alone, we supported: • 13 community groups • 8,000kg+ of donated surplus food shared • 952 households — nearly 4,000 individuals Thank you to everyone who’s been part of the Healthy Living Platform in 2025. 🚨*FREE FRUIT + VEG GIVEAWAY THIS FRIDAY 27TH NOVEMBER!*🚨 The Felix Fresh is a pop-up market where tonnes of surplus produce is given out for free to anyone! UK growers have a lot to donate at this time of year - a seasonal glut - and we can’t always get it all out due to capacity - there’s tonnes of food to be saved! Food waste is a huge issue in the UK with around 10.2m tonnes being thrown away, 70% of which is classed as edible.
