44 MILLION MEALS! 💚
Our 2025 Impact Report is out, and we are amazed by what we've achieved together,
In the past year, we rescued 18,000 tonnes of surplus food from 225 suppliers—£88 million worth of high-quality and nutritious food that fed our communities instead of going to waste.
With your help, we were able to deliver 44 million meals to over 1,200 community organizations across our city who are supporting Londoners in need. Plus, by saving this food, we prevented 25,000 tonnes of CO2e embedded in the food from being wasted.
To everyone who donated, volunteered, tackled a challenge, attended an event, or simply waved at our bright green Felix vans: thank you. We truly couldn't have done it without you. 💚

Last month, we welcomed some of our favourite foodies to our Poplar depot for a special zero-waste lunch, hosted by the wonderful @bettinas_kitchen , to celebrate the upcoming launch of Restaurants Feed London 2026.
With incredible dishes prepared by our kitchen team, an inspiring talk from @emmanemburns , and a behind-the-scenes tour of our East London depot, the event was a powerful reminder of what this campaign is all about: bringing together London’s hospitality sector to tackle food waste and hunger.
With less than two weeks to go until launch on World Hunger Day (28th May), there’s still time to get involved. If your restaurant (or café, pub… even tapas bar!) would like to make an impact this summer, you can sign up here at the link inour bio.☝️
Or, if there’s a restaurant you’d love to see take part, why not tag them below?👇

When you open your cupboards, you might not realize the power those tins of beans and lentils hold in ensuring a family has a healthy meal. But to Rea, a working mum who uses the L6 Community Centre, these staples are a lifeline:
“Those cupboard basics are a ‘must have’ in our household; they always have been. Ever since I was a kid, our cupboards have always been full of long-life food such as pasta sauces, pasta, tinned beans, tea and biscuits. It makes you feel like you’ve always got something to hand to feed the family.”
However, with the rising cost of living, keeping those cupboards full is becoming an uphill battle. This security is especially vital during the school holidays, when the L6 Community Centre steps in to provide families with two out of their three daily meals.
Because these cupboard staples are essential to a healthy home, they have become our number one most-requested items. To meet this need, we’ve set an ambitious target for our suppliers to find an extra 100 tonnes of cupboard staples like rice, pasta, and cooking oil by the end of June.
By supporting our campaign, you aren't just donating food; you’re helping provide that sense of security that every parent deserves.

The theme for Earth Day 2026 is Our Power, Our Planet. 🌍✨
At The Felix Project and @fareshareuk , we believe that power lies in the hands of our community. It’s the power to say "no" to good food going to waste and "yes" to feeding our community.
In 2025, our collective power achieved something incredible:
🥬 18,000+ tonnes of food rescued from becoming waste.
🍝 44 million meals delivered to Londoners in need.
🌍 20,000 tonnes of embedded CO2e saved—that’s the equivalent of driving around the world over 1,400 times. 🚗💨
When we rescue food, we aren't just fighting hunger; we are protecting the water, land, and energy used to produce it. Every meal saved is a win for our planet.
This Earth Day, we’re celebrating the volunteers, suppliers, and partners who have joined us to use their power fight food waste and hunger in our communities.💚
How are you using your power for the planet today? Let us know in the comments! 👇
Spend a day volunteering with @thefelixproject and faresharelondon an organisation that rescues surplus food and redistributes it to Charities, food banks, schools and organisations across the UK. 🥦
They’re looking for volunteers to help them rescue surplus food from supermarkets and suppliers, sort and pack it at their depots, and deliver it to charities, schools and community organisations across London 🙌
Where should @dom_renwick volunteer next?

Over the next two years, we’ll be partnering with @TheFelixProject and @FareShareUK to tackle food waste and food insecurity in the UK.
Together, we’re aiming to raise £1 million, mobilise thousands of volunteer hours and help redistribute the equivalent of over five million meals – helping create a future where no good food goes to waste and nobody goes hungry.

♻️ Big changes to your bins: What you need to know!
Ever wondered why you can recycle a yogurt pot in one council but not the next? That’s about to change. England has recently rolled out a Simpler Recycling program to standardise recycling practices so they're the same across the country, reducing confusion.
What’s changing?
By law, councils across England must now collect these four groups:
🍕 Food & Garden waste: Weekly food waste collections are now mandatory (and free!).
📦 Paper & Card: No more guessing if it goes in the "main" bin or a separate box.
🍾 Dry Recyclables: This includes glass, metal, plastic, and juice cartons.
🗑️ General Rubbish: Everything else that can't be recycled.
One big highlight of this is all councils are now required to collect your food waste every week. Instead of going to a landfill where it rots and creates greenhouse gases, it’ll be used to create renewable energy and fertilizer for farms. 🌍⚡
Some of you may already be experiencing the changes since they launched at the end of March. However, about 31 councils have been given extra time to comply with the new rules, so don't panic if your bins and collection routine haven't changed yet. You can stay updated by checking your local council's website.
Has you council already enacted the new rules? Have you noticed a difference? And what do you think of the new simpler rules? Let us know in the comments. 👇

We’re joined by Charlotte Hill OBE, CEO of The Felix Project, to talk leadership, impact, and balancing a high-pressure role with motherhood.
In just three years, she’s helped deliver nearly 16,000 tonnes of food to 1,200+ community organisations and enabled over 1.3 million meals. Following the merger with FareShare, they’ll now support 1.5 million people annually across 8,000+ organisations.
💡 Tune in for her insights on leadership, resilience, and creating meaningful social impact.
