On Mother’s Day, I shared my frustration with Texas volunteers regarding the unnecessary burden placed on our society to remain resilient in the face of gun violence. This resilience is required only because of the continued failure of elected officials who refuse to challenge firearm manufacturers and prioritize special interests over public safety. Mothers should not have to fight this hard to ensure the safety of their children, but what other choice do we have? Mothers, like those whose children were murdered in Uvalde, continue to fight for other people’s children—as if there’s any such thing as other people’s children.  The families of @LivesRobbed have repeatedly petitioned elected officials to raise the age for firearm purchases to prevent further tragedies like what happened to their children at the hands of an eighteen year old, yet their efforts were heartlessly ignored during the last two Texas legislative sessions. We have not forgotten these efforts, and I invite you to join us in supporting their “21 for 21” fundraiser. You can find the link to contribute in my profile. If you’re ready to walk alongside us in this fight for a safer world, text ACT to 644-33. ❤️ #LivesRobbed #MomsDemand #LeeleeGetsDemanding #LeeleeWritesHaikuHowBoutYou

This week our “Join the Call” weekly campaign is focusing on the Raise the Age Act of 2025. May marks four years since the shooting at Robb. Every Texas Representative should be a co-sponsor on the Raise the Age Act. This week we are calling the last TWO Texas Democrats who do not yet co-sponsor the Raise the Age Act. Sign up at the link in our bio or on our website to join the call next week and receive an email with all the information you’ll need to make your voices heard. /n3il7zBenEKzZMDZCJFabA2

You can’t blame gun violence on mental health issues and then gut critical funding for mental health resources that was passed after the school shooting at Robb Elementary School. This Mental Health Awareness Month, we’re urging the Trump administration to prioritize the safety of our kids.
