✨ Collectible design just got its own moment at Salone del Mobile — and it’s called Salone Raritas. 🪑🎨
For the first time, unique pieces sitting at the crossroads of high-end craftsmanship, art, and collectible design entered the heart of the world’s most important furniture fair. Curated by Annalisa Rosso with exhibition design by Formafantasma, Salone Raritas signalled where the market is heading. 🙌
It connected Milan Design Week’s energy to the collectible global circuit which is reshaping its destinations: Miami, Paris, Dubai, Mexico City. With Milan firmly part of that conversation. 🌍
Here’s what caught our eye 👇
🩷 Sabine Marcelis presented Plume — pale pink, polymer resin, silicone oil — a piece that literally captures air moving through liquid. Endlessly shifting. Quietly mesmerising.
🪞 Nilufar Gallery brought a considered showcase with pieces by Maximilian Marchesani, Andrea Mancuso and more.
⚗️ Galerie Philia went full monochrome — aluminium, stainless steel, silver tones.
🪨 Matera — the new project by Manuela Rotta and Stefan Scholten — debuted its first collection in responsibly sourced marble and natural stone.
♻️ Parasite 2.0 x Bianco67 transformed industrial waste into something genuinely worth collecting. Their Secunda Natura showcase was sustainability done with real design intelligence.
💡 Draga & Aurel turned light into a medium with Affinity in Light, developed alongside historic Murano furnace Salviati. Glass + light = poetry.
🏛️ Marta Sala reminded us that great architects design everything — presenting furniture by Herzog & de Meuron. Neutra backed that up with Zaha Hadid Architects’ Erosion collection in stone.
🪵 Max Radford Gallery brought a solo show by Lewis Kemmenoe — patchwork chairs in multiple European timbers with that almost-camouflage energy.
🍬 Mouromtsev Design Edition flew in from Dubai with a candy-dispenser-inspired table, the furry Gentle Panther carpet, and a Gufram collab seat. Unexpected and completely compelling.

The Milano Design Week 2026 has come to a close 🚀
Across the city and the fair, design once again stretched beyond its own boundaries - into institutions, brands, and contexts both inside and outside the industry.
This year, we strategically advised projects spanning from installations to showroom openings, brand activations, and institutional programs. Each collaboration came with a different strategy, objective, and set of priorities.
At the same time, we were on the ground speaking with designers, architects, industry experts, and institutions — collecting insights, data points, and expectations, while observing what truly worked (and what didn’t).
From this, one central question emerged: WHY - AND HOW - BE IN MILAN?
A structural question for brands and institutions navigating design today.

Marsèll presents Double Void, a site-specific project by Odd Matter for Milan Design Week.
Over the years, Marsèll has transformed its spaces into environments that go beyond their commercial function, becoming places of research, innovation, and design freedom. The collaboration with Odd Matter perfectly integrates this philosophy: the studio’s strong and conceptually provocative visual language meets the brand’s sensibility to create an immersive experience that is not only visual but also physical and intellectual.
The Italian brand Marsèll, over the years, has transformed its Milanese spaces into devices of radical thought that have trained several generations of artists and designers to engage with an uncommon degree of projectual freedom.

#SaloneRaritas is the new exhibition ecosystem of the @isaloniofficial dedicated to collectible design: one-off pieces, limited editions, antiques and high creative manufacturing.
The project, which debuts in Pavilions 9 and 11 at Fiera Milano, brings together an international selection of galleries, designers and authors, from Italy to Europe, from the Middle East to South America.
For the exhibition design of this space, the @formafantasma studio has conceived a large architectural lantern: a porous and permeable landscape, designed to enhance the stories it contains without overpowering them. To create it, Andrea Trimarchi and Simone Farresin chose a classic from #Cleaf: the Millennium texture.
“The Millennium texture reproduces the extreme smoothness and homogeneity of the texture of spruce and its marked flaming creates intriguing visual effects thanks to a succession of matte and glossy levels,” explains Roberto Caspani, CEO of Cleaf. “The pairing with a palette of solid-colored decorative papers ensures recognizability and rhythm in the exhibition itinerary.” A choice that confirms the versatility of #CleafSurfaces, capable of dialoguing with high-profile design contexts, where the material is not a simple covering but a spatial device.

This afternoon unfolds through two conversations that explore design as an evolving language, made of relationships, questions, and visions that refuse to stand still.

A dialogue on a unified design approach, where objects and interiors exist as part of a coherent system of relationships, each element preserving its own identity while contributing to a broader, harmonious vision.
17:30 — “Il dubbio come metodo” with @alessandrostabile.studio , industrial designer.
A reflection on design as an open, generative practice, where questioning becomes a tool, and uncertainty the fertile ground from which innovation, new forms, and unexpected solutions can emerge.
Two talks, one shared attitude: curiosity over certainty, process over formula.

Marsèll presents Double Void, a site-specific project by Odd Matter for Milan Design Week.
The project plays on the concept of emptiness as an active space, capable of altering the balance of the environment, emphasizing the physical and emotional experience of those who stand inside it. The installation is characterized by verticality, tensions, and misalignments between seemingly static materials, surfaces and reflections. Walking through it, people experience a controlled instability that stimulates attention and curiosity.
People are bodies inserted into a field of forces and participate in the alteration of the spatial conditions of equilibrium. An intense experience that echoes the principle of quantum physics according to which a minimal perturbation is sufficient to change state. According to Gurdjieff, mystic, composer and movements teacher of the last century, a shock is necessary for the awakening of consciousness. And is this not perhaps what we all need?
