On an absolute high after last nights gig with the exceptional @arboristmusic Celebrating the 50th anniversary of @bobdylan Desire we sang the whole album (and a couple others for the craic) Growing up we had Desire taped onto a cassette which was played on loop in our car, so I have essentially been practicing Emmy Lou’s backing vocals since I was 5 years old. What an absolute honour to sing with such an incredible band. Loved every second. This is me singing Just Like A Woman with the talented marvel that is Mark McCambridge. Tonight the 4th and final episode of Trespasses will be aired on @channel4 The response to the show have been so overwhelming and yet not, in any way, a surprise. Like many I fell deeply in love with @louise.kennedyy utter heartbreaker of a book when it came out. I then had the privilege to read an edited version for @bbcradio4 ‘Book at Bedtime’. It was always so obvious to me that it would make it to the screen. So when I was asked to read for the part of Penny I was over the moon. It is rare to watch the north of Ireland in the 1970s depicted with such tenderness and irresistible sensuality. But passion existed then too, even in the midst of so much pain. It’s just unavoidingly heart - opening what @lolapetticrew and @tom_cullen have brought to Cushla and Michael. In the wrong hands it could have been so different. But their giant hearted generosity, their authenticity and vulnerability just pours off the screen. You’re rooting for their forbidden love every beat. What @shadforthandco and @ryan_kernaghan have co-created with Ailbhe Keogan’s script is just utterly magical. Every shot intoxicating, heartbreaking, and nostalgic in equal measures. @gilliandevenney set design and @emmaolo7891 costume design are beyond exquisite. Those colours and textures. @nataliereidmakeuphairdesign @catcoogan @kelly_campbell__ bringing the characters to life every morning with so much care and precision (and endless laughter) And the music! 🤌 @davidholmes_1969 @calalawlor Thank you @mariamulhall and @poseyamanda for your endless commitment to telling this story and making me feel so very much at home within this incredible piece of art. “You can never have too much garlic” Penny 🤍 #trespasses
