@realrvw The Real Review names Vigneron of the Year: Stephen Pannell of S.C. Pannell Wines!! ‘This is our prestige award for a person who is equal parts winemaker and viticulturist, someone who views the production of wine wholistically and is equally involved in growing grapes as vinifying them in a winery. The quality, character and diversity of their wine output is of high importance, but their other qualities are also considered.’ Massive congrats to Stephen Pannell and all at Pannell Enoteca @scpannell for this prestigious accolade.

Devastating to see the loss of vineyards, stock , equipment and livelihoods across Harcourt over the weekend. Our love goes out to all those affected and to our @maidenii Vermouth producers Gilles and Shaun. Whilst most of the bulk Maidenii stocks were spared being offsite , Gilles @maisonlapalus has lost all of his wines, equipment and the precious 10 year old Maidenii Nocturne solera barrels, along with all the base vermouth tinctures meaning this ‘26 vintage is also missed. A huge wine community in Vic just wiped out. We wish all those affected all our love and support to rebuild and thrive again. Also so great to see the whole wine community offer immediate support in any way they can. X

Spring News! L.A.S Vino @lasvino joins @liquidlibrary September 1st. Nicolas Peterkin’s genetic history was most likely to lead to making wine in Margaret River. That he has made waves so quickly and decisively with his own L.A.S Vino is a surprise to no one who has followed his vinous journey. The wines are unique and character driven, with Nic’s flair abundant , whilst affirming the best of Margaret River’s subregional nuances. 2024’s WA Wineguide winemaker of the year & 2023 Halliday Dark Horse winery of the year prove Nic has truly arrived and creating his own story amongst family legend. Liquid Library are excited to represent L.A.S Vino from Monday and please reach out to your local librarian if you need a refresh or taste of the current lineup. See all available releases, notes and reviews in link in bio.

Repost from Young Gun of Wine: ( and yes we still have Summit Chard and Pinot available !!!) ‘At the 4th Annual Vineyard of the Year Awards, Vineyard of the Year goes to Erinn Klein, Ngeringa – Summit Vineyard in Adelaide Hills. Erinn Klein and his wife, Janet, planted the Summit Vineyard at a density of 6,600 vines per hectare on his family’s property in 2001–02. Aside from being a site of excellent potential, biodynamic farming principles had been in place for over a decade, with certification coming in 1993. That property houses the herb farm at the core of the family’s Jurlique skin-care brand, providing botanicals for their products. The approach that underscores the herb farm was always going to be central to the Kleins’ vision, who run the @ngeringa brand together from the ground up, making wine on site as well as running livestock, growing vegetables and tirelessly revegetating the native environment. The 2-hectare Summit Vineyard, which sits at around 360 metres, is planted to chardonnay, pinot noir, syrah, fiano, gamay and pink semillon. “Ngeringa is at the base of the Mount Barker Summit, an ancient place steeped in culture and lore,” says Klein. “The tops of our slopes look out over the Murray Mouth in the distance, and in return, the afternoon ocean breezes cool the vineyard, preserving flavour, acids and complementing the warmer, ripening mornings.” The pair manage three vineyards across two properties – two kilometres apart – in the Adelaide Hills, along with running Scottish Highland cattle, sheep and chickens, along with extensive biodynamic vegetable gardens, with the produce sold to top Adelaide restaurants and the public. The holistic approach also sees 80 per cent of their power needs coming via solar, while they have an ongoing program to return clear-felled parts to native bushland, having planted up to 1,500 trees every year since 2008.’ 2024 Young Gun of Wine Vineyard if the Year.
