MADE IN D.
The stand translates the architecture of Düsseldorf into a spatial concept.
Sculptural, modular volumes made of galvanized corrugated steel form an open landscape of individual islands, shaping the space with a strong graphic presence.
The design is clean and clearly structured, yet deliberately eye-catching.
The corrugated material creates rhythm, depth, and an industrial tension that clearly sets the stand apart within the exhibition context.
Within this architectural framework, six distinct positions are presented. @heikokalauer@urselmann_interior@stefanschwandermoebel@lilli_malou@typeoclock@kroegerlamping
Each work is placed on its own island, given space to unfold, while remaining part of a cohesive system.
This creates a balance between diversity, order, and coherence.
The stand functions as a temporary urban fragment from Düsseldorf —
precise, confident, and intentionally composed.

“Metallophytes: Echoes of Extraction” continues — this time, in a quiet gesture of reflection.
A mirror catches the silhouette of Campanula rotundifolia, a metallophyte thriving in metal-contaminated soil.
Together with @lilli_malou , we explore how plants record industrial legacies — not just as silent witnesses, but as active agents of transformation.
Through ceramics glazed with their ash, we listen to what the soil remembers.

Project together with @lilli_malou — “Metallophytes: Echoes of Extraction” reveals the hidden presence of heavy metals in Germany’s soils through stoneware ceramics, using plant ash glazes formed by pollutants absorbed by metallophytes— plants tolerant to toxicity. Accompanied by a booklet, the project transforms environmental data into a poetic archive, raising awareness about soil contamination and endangered metallophytes.
The ceramics act as witnesses to industrial legacies from mining and agriculture, inviting dialogue on environmental impact and evolving pollution levels while promoting the conservation of these unique metallophyte ecosystems. This project was on display as part of the “Spaces for Tomorrow” exhibition at Dutch Design Week 2024 from @sbyd.space@dutchdesignweek
MJW x LWMA : Lilli Malou‘s exhibition view
“Lilli Malou Weinhold“ is Düsseldorf based german artist.
She graduated from Folkwang University of the Arts in 2023, earning a bachelor’s degree in industrial design.
Lilli perceives Design as a playful and subtle tool, capable of initiating meaningful dialogues and engaging conversations.
Lilli’s Project „Dig In“ is her exploration of the rich history of cutlery, specifically during the 16th- 18th centuries by analyzing table manners and customs from the Stone Age to today’s developments and traditions.
In this exhibition in particular, Lilli wanted to highlight the functionality of each art piece by incorporating her artworks into her beautiful and sensual photography.
The height of the photography and the different materiality “silver” of the art pieces made the flat characteristics of the photograph spatial and three-dimensional. In addition the showcase itself functioned like a magazine cover, allowing the audience to easily approach the her artworks.
“My goal in designing objects is to nurture an emotional connection between users and objects. It’s not essential for users to echo my emotions; what counts is their sense of being drawn too touched by, and accompanied by the objects - design’s most beautiful aspect. ” - By Lilli Malou Weinhold

☻ LILLI MALOU WEINHOLD - DIG INJewellery Objects for a Contemporary Dining Culture Folkwang Universität der Künste Essen
↗ In dig in – Jewellery Objects for a Contemporary Dining Culture, the designer created silver objects that blur the line between jewellery and eating utensils, allowing both aspects to interact. The focus is on how users perceive and handle these pieces. Viewers are invited to actively engage with the design of utensils and reflect on what best suits their needs. The work also explores intensively how European dining habits have evolved over centuries, reflecting these changes in the designs. The production process provided insights into gold and silversmithing techniques.
