🏆 We’re thrilled to share that BID Leicester has won a national award for Light Up Leicester 2025! 🎉
Presented at the ATCM Awards, which recognise the best projects delivered by Business Improvement Districts and place partnerships across the UK, this award for Best Culture and Arts Scheme celebrates the success of Light Up Leicester.
Whilst BID Leicester picked up the award, the project was delivered and made possible through a strong partnership between Leicester City Council, ArtReach, Leicester Cathedral and BID Leicester. The event was also supported by Arts Council England and Highcross Leicester.
The 2025 festival drew over 100,000 visitors to Leicester city centre with four unforgettable nights of large-scale light installations, live performances, and community-led events.
As presenting partner, marketing and communications lead, and a major financial sponsor of the event, BID Leicester is proud to have played a central role in bringing this spectacular and collaborative event to life, and to see it celebrated on a national stage ✨

Huge thanks to @lightupleicester for commissioning me to create this art piece (Noor Tower) for the light up Leicester festival.
Inspired by the intricate geometric designs of Moroccan architecture, Noor Tower is a breathtaking LED sculpture that blends tradition with modern technology. Laser-cut wooden panels form delicate, interwoven patterns that echo the ornate tilework of Islamic art, while glowing LED lights illuminate the tower from within. This fusion of heritage and contemporary design creates a striking interplay of light and shadow, celebrating cultural beauty through a modern lens.
The Noor Tower is a part of the Light up Leicester, but it also made a perfect backdrop for the Iftar event.
I’m really honored to be part of Leicester’s first open Iftar in this way.
My artwork represents unity, which is the main theme for this event. Bringing together different influences, patterns, and layers to create something whole. It’s about connection, culture, and shared experiences.
