Finally made the pilgrimage to @alabamachanin in Florence, AL to meet the ‘Mother of Slow Fashion’ Natalie Chanin. For the past twenty years her company has been employing local artisans, strengthening the southern textile supply chain and making beauty out of necessity. Her non-profit @projectthreadways hosted their annual conference this weekend around the future of textiles. Her honesty and vulnerability helped heal some of my wounds this industry has inflicted. Her commitment to progress has motivated me to keep fighting for a better tomorrow, now with even more partners-in-crime. Thank you Natalie for your vision and poetry. Thank you to all the attendees for your thoughtful dialogue and commendable work. Thank you @rachelmeginnes and @jamiekarolich for your friendship and companionship. Looking forward to The Future together.
