Meet Stamata athlete Libby Benzer!! šŸ‡ Libby began running in high school, but it was far from a love story. In college, she ran at Canisius University and fought to break 20 minutes in the 5K. After accomplishing that goal in her junior year, she was all in, dropping another three minutes from her 5K time in the next two years, and joining the team at Penn State. With room to continue to improve post-collegiately, her goals include breaking 1:11 in the half-marathon and qualifying for the Olympic Trials with a sub-2:30 marathon. ā€œThe races I’ve run as part of a team have been my best — not just in times, but in the confidence and sense of belonging. At Penn State, cross country races felt unstoppable because we had each other’s backs. I know that having a team — even when we’re not physically together — will fuel the fire inside me.ā€ - @libby.benzer

2:38:51, a minute and fifty one seconds off the OTQ… Running with a group is so powerful. Running alongside people who are part of your journey & are in your corner makes you feel unstoppable. Being part of @tracksmithstamata has given me so many instant best friends who inspire me and push me to be the best version of myself every day. We keep showing up. Despite the result of Eugene, we’re going to keep showing up & doing the hard things. I have complete confidence that we’ll all get that OTQ together. Crossing the finish line was a victory within itself but I know there’s more to be unlocked. I have much to learn still with the marathon. So grateful for @stephrothstein @bbjamin15 @sarahlreiter pacing us absolutely perfectly as far as they could take us. See y’all soon on another marathon start line!!! ONWARDS šŸš€

ā€œLearning. Tough. Rewarding.ā€ Libby Benzer’s debut marathon—run after a diffcult lead-in, and shared with Stamata teammates bound for the Trials. Plenty ahead.

The highs and lows are what drive you to go further in this sport • • • You don’t always have the day you’ve hoped for. In my case, getting the flu and taking some days off leading up to the marathon weren’t the best combination for success. Regardless, I got what I needed out of that day. The world doesn’t stop spinning when you can’t get the job done. I got to watch so many teammates crush the OTQ, pr, and experience all the emotions that encapsulate the marathon. Being paced by @stephrothstein & @par_sam_sons with such a huge group of women was a surreal experience & I will always cherish those miles. A huge thank you to all of the support from @willisnick @brendanpdavis @tracksmithstamata Already looking forward to the next! ONWARDS šŸ“ø @brysonmalone

Meet our women! @tracksmithstamata First official training camp for our Stamata team. They packed their tote bags and headed north to take on the hills of Craftsbury, Vermont. This group of women stepped away from the demands of daily life—kids, classrooms, cockpits, clinics, meetings—to bond with new teammates and to begin the prep work for chasing the OTQ standard of 2:37. One of their sessions captured here: 8 x 800 with 1 min standing rest on undulating hills, 1 way up, 1 way down. 1 pace group was hitting 2:50s on the ups and 2:42-2:44 on the down. 2nd pace group was hitting 3:02s on the ups and 2:52s on the way down. A few finishes off with 1 min hill climbs after to practice running strong on fatigued legs. Our women range from 2:50-2:30 marathoners. We hope to share what races we’re targeting, what workouts we’re doing, the fueling strategies, the recovery tips and everything in between. ā€œIt’s incredible being surrounded by others chasing the same ambitious goal, who understand the sacrifices it takes. I’ve just loved it up here with these women.ā€ - @sallyandsun
